Xiao POV.

I sit on top of the roof of Wangshu Inn watching the sunset. The gentle breeze blowing strands of my hair. I was alone with my thoughts, until I was abruptly interrupted by a tiny voice in my head. I could easily tell that it was Paimon who was calling out my name. Something seemed off about it though. Her voice has hints of desperation and fear. After a few more times I finally give in and teleport leaving black and teal smoke behind. I took a good look around the surroundings, it was freezing and the ground was covered with Ice paths and freshly fallen snow that glimmered in the setting sun. I looked over to where Paimon was trying to lead me, only to find Aether laying on the cold Icy ground. I immediately ran over to him checking if he was still breathing or not. 'There's still a pulse.'

I sigh in relief as I pick Aether's limp freezing body up, removing any freshly fallen snow that piled onto him. Black and teal surround the 3 of them as they disappeared from the freezing biome

Aether POV.

I woke up in an unknown area. I definitely wasn't in Dragonspine anymore. I looked around the room, the moonlight gleamed through the blinds, the room was large, and it had a medium sized kitchen right next to the bedroom, along with a bathroom nearby. There was only 2 doors in the whole room, the one to leave and the one to the bathroom.

'This must be a hotel room. Am I at Wangshu Inn?' I questioned.

There was a small couch near the left side of the bed were a figure sat. I sat up in the bed keeping my eyes on the figure who sat on the couch.

"You're finally awake?" The person bluntly asked, getting off the couch and walking over.

"Where am I?" I asked looking around once more.

"Stupid mortal.. Always so careless." The figure said walking towards the bed, ignoring the previous question.

'That voice sounds so familiar. Where have I heard that voice before?' I thought to myself for a second before it hit me like a Cryo Whopperflower freezing you every 2 seconds after getting unfrozen.

"Xiao?" I questioned as the slightly shorter male walked into the lightened part of the room, lit by the blue tint of the moon.

'I guess I was right' I said to myself.

I can feel my heart skip a beat the moment I saw him. He placed his hand on my forehead.

"Are you sick or something? You're face is red" He bluntly said staring at me.

"A-ah no! I'm fine, thank you!' I said throwing myself off the bed.

I painfully remembered the gash in my leg, and fell back down on the bed.

"You're leg isn't healed yet. Stop being so reckless" Xiao said in annoyance clear in his voice.

"Right..Sorry." I mumbled and got back into the twine and coffee colored bed.

The bed was extremely comfortable so it was easy to go back into a deep sleep.

Time skip. A week later. Location: Wangshu Inn~.

It's been about a week since the incident. Xiao visits sometimes but doesn't stay for too long in the mornings and is usually gone by the time I wake up. He only came around to give me food and usually stayed on the couch at night. My leg has been fully healed and I was free to leave Wangshu Inn.
I sat on the edge of the bed braiding my long blonde hair. I could feel Xiao eyeing me the entire time. As I  finished braiding my hair I threw on my scarf and hopped off the bed, walking towards the door.

"Thank you Xiao, I'll be sure to repay you someday" I waved goodbye and with that, I left the room and started my way back to Liyue Harbor.
