What Year Is It?

Tony's POV

Once again the team is at a HYDRA base looking for anything that should not get out. I hate going to these bases because my little sister got taken by HYDRA when we were little. Every time we come into one of these I hope that the team finds some sort of clue to where she could be. If she is still alive that is. HYDRA is known for testing their hostages and a lot of times, they don't make it.

"Okay. this should be easy. We go in. look for anything important, and leave. Simple." I said to the team. "Sir. There seems to be a lifeform in the base. It has a very low temperature." Jarvis said to me. Ok. Well. Maybe this isn't going to be as easy as I thought it would be. Maybe whoever it is knows about Ava though. And maybe they can tell us where she is.

"Sam! You're with me." I yelled and he looked confused, probably because I normally choose Steve, but soon caught up with me.
"Okay so there is a live source in here." I told Sam. "How? It's been abandoned for years," he said once again confused. "Jarvis said that it had an unusually low temperature so I'm betting that it will be a situation like Steve," I said half joking half serious. It could be like that, but I doubt HYDRA would freeze someone.

With that, we walked into the building and followed Jarvis' instructions to where the life source is.

"You have arrived sir" Jarvis said. It took us to an empty room with a big rock in the middle. We cautiously walked closer and saw that there was writing on the stone, which happened to be freezing cold.

"Jarvis can you translate that please?"
"Yes sir" We waited a few minutes before he said "Sir, it appears to say Ava Stark"

The second he said that, I froze. "Sam, get the team and tell them I found something big"

Sam's POV

He looked worried. I went to get the team and when we got back I heard Nat ask "What did you find Tony?" We all looked at him and he said "It's her. ... It's Ava."

We were all very confused. Then it clicked. Tony had a little sister who was taken by HYDRA when she was little.

We were all told to look for things about her while we were here, but none of us really thought that we would find anything, let alone Ava herself. We loaded the rock and headed back to the compound after doing a quick look over of the base.

Tony hasn't left her side since we got to the tower. It was my turn to check on him and it appears that he now has her out of the ice. She was sleeping peacefully and in what I assume to be a coma.

Even though she is sleeping, she is still the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I know I shouldn't think about that since she is Tony's sister and I don't know how old she is, but I can't help it.

"How you doing Tony?" I asked. He looked up and walked to me. "I'm doing fine. She still isn't waking up and I don't even know if she will" he said while looking down sadly. "Don't worry Tones, she will."

While Tony and I were talking, violet energy started dancing around her fingertips. I was confused at first but then realized that if she was taken by HYDRA, they most likely did experiments on her.

It hurt to think about what they put  her through. The important thing though, was that she was safe, and would not have to go back there again.

After a few moments, she woke up. Tony went to hug her but she shot her energy at him and then went invisible.

He took a few seconds to recover before saying."Ava, it's me. It's Tony. I'm not going to hurt you." And with that, she reappeared in a fighting stance behind us. We both jumped thinking that she would still be on the bed.

She stared at Tony for a little bit then relaxed her arms and said, "Tony? Is it really you?" with a heavy russian accent. He was too shocked to respond so he just nodded and they hugged while both of them were crying. It was cute.

Then she looked up at me. "Tones. Who is that?" she asked, releasing Tony. "That is Sam, he won't hurt you. He is a friend of mine. Now we know you have electricity hands, and can turn invisible, what else can you do?" Tony said chuckling. "Oh, yeah. Well, I can fly, teleport, I'm telekinetic, and I have super strength."

"Okay. Wow. Now, what year do you think it is?" "1997. I'm 19." I saw a flash of sadness appear on Tony's face before it returned back to normal.

"Ava. It's 2007." I said slightly worried. As soon as I said that she nearly collapsed and since Tony was on the other side of the room, I caught her.

She started crying too and I am not good at calming people down so I just rubbed her back soothingly. I felt really bad for her. As we sat there, I began to fall even more in love with her.  

After a little while, we had both fallen asleep on the floor of Tony's lab. I was the first to wake up. She looked so peaceful while she was sleeping.

Well, peaceful until she started screaming. Must be a nightmare from when she was with HYDRA. I tried to shake her awake gently but nothing was working.

"Jarvis! Get Tony in here now!" "Yes Mr. Wilson. He is on his way." I began to get even more worried as she began to shake.

Soon a very tired looking Tony came into the lab. When he saw her shaking and screaming, he jumped into action and eventually got her to wake up.

She was sobbing. He told Jarvis to take her to his room, and said he wanted to talk to me.

"Sam. I know you like her." My head shot up in confusion. How could he know. I just looked down waiting for him to tell me that we could never be a thing because she was his sister.

But he didn't, instead he said, "just don't break her heart. I can tell she likes you too. Don't worry." And with that he smiled and walked off to his room and I went to mine.

Ava's POV

After I got to Tony's room, I just layed down on the bed and waited for him to get back, but I fell asleep before he got there. I guess I should probably tell him that I could get another power at any moment as a side effect of the different serums injected into me. Oh well I will tell him tomorrow.

I couldn't stop thinking about Sam. He was cute, and the way he held me when I broke down in tears was really sweet. I felt bad about falling asleep with him on the floor but I can't undo that now.

And just like that I fell into a dreamless sleep. Well, what I thought would be dreamless.
