Waking up in a room lit by candles didn't seem to be anyone's ideal way of waking up. Lanterns lit by fireflies hung over head and a small pond warmed her body.

Had she won? She was fighting in this colosseum for geo she had no need for. However, many bugs had been called here by the infection. She was at a loss of life. Nothing to live for. She swiftly stood up after feeling her energy come back in waves and flashes of pure white. Walking towards the opening in the ceiling. The only way to figure it out. Little fool was a great asset. An amazing friend. Little fool had given her a place amongst the bugs. Given her the strength to eventually make it to the trial of the warrior. Little fool was a true friend.

Upon climbing into the upper area leading to the arena she spotted Little fool, chained and hanging from the ceiling. Little fool swayed from side to side looking completely neutral in the entrance to a death match.

"Keep fighting even when done. Keep fighting for honor is payment," Little fool sang.

As she approached the swinging figure it's singing died to whispers. Little fool's eyes went wide. Very wide.

"Shocked to see me?" She asked as she took the last step to be face to face with the smaller bug.

"See you at all, no. See you alive, yes." Little fool said in a sing-song voice. "Last we heard they couldn't do anything for you, so over the cliff we go," Little fool said while seemingly shrugging her arms.

"The pool managed to save me."

"It brought back a life force. Something that seems to work for a lot of the fools here."

"So you asked them to?"

"I did. I couldn't stand to lose our best competitor. We need you for the attention we receive. For the entertainment gained from watching your battles."

Nothing but an asset, the taller bug figured as she started to turn. No need for a friend. Off into the arena she went. Ready for another fight. Whether it was against God tamer or a simple vengfly she needed it. She craved the taste of victory. The need for attention and geo. The shiny coins had become her newest collection. She would be able to buy the kingdom eventually. Maybe then the infection would stop taking over the minds of her fellow bugs.

This is a very short chapter one, but it felt like a general good ending for the chapter. My love for hollow knight has driven me to do this. I hope you enjoyed!!!
