The colloseum was to prove strength in battle. It proved intelligence in daring situations. It even proved strategy through the entire thing. A simple bug would surely die to it. So why was there so many of them here. Simple creatures that are following the infection for no reason other than they were so weak they couldn't fight it off. They were driven mad and seek satisfaction. They seek for a master that will probably never be stopped. So what was this thing that sat before her eyes. A small creature. With horns on its head and a nail clasped to it's back. It was a sight for sore eyes. Watching it fight was like watching a mantis soar through the air from one wall to the other. Jumping in groups of beautiful lines.
This was the only time she had watched another fighter. It's nail cut vigorously through the enemies with no remorse. However, this thing was not taken over by the infection. Only the sheer ability to defend and attack. Yet it had magic. Beautiful light and darkness that would come from no where to lend a hand. It was the most powerful being she had ever seen. Maybe in any other moment she would scream for the bug. Ask it if it was truly just strength that was driving the bug to this. Maybe the geo. But for most it is honor. Could this bug be here purely for the honor.
As its fight went on it seemed to grow even stronger. It's life force being regenerated somehow. The same power the hot spring had was being used by it. This bug or thing possessed power greater than anyone else here. It's strength radiated something more than just pure power. It generated a balance between the light and dark. A balanced world. A better future.
When its fight was over she found herself going down to the area below the arena. And surely enough she saw it. Laying in the hot spring with eyes half lidded. Of course it would be tired after a fight. Maybe it needed a break or a rest during the fight as well.
"Little bug you were quite great out there." It's head snapped towards her and it seemed shocked to even find her in the first place. Silence filled the area as fireflies danced amongst the rooms.
"No better than another fool before me, I'm sure of that," it said while seemingly deciding to brush her off.
"I respect you as a fighter. However, one bug to the other why must you fight. Is it for honor, geo, maybe even the chance to be stronger?" She asked as she laid one of her hands on its shoulder.
"I fight for something I'm not sure of. I don't do it just for me. I crave to help others as well. If you don't mind me asking, what's your name?"
"My name is Coccinelle. Feel free to call me Cinelle."
"I'm mostly called little ghost though I'm not sure what I was originally called," it said while looking up lost in thought
Perhaps it was trying to remember the truth of where it came from. Maybe it already does.
"Tell me little ghost, why are you fighting here? What does the colloseum mean to you? Is it for honor?"
"No. I don't fight for honor. There's just a feeling. Like it's my calling. Honor isn't for anything other than a currency for the bugs tainted by the infection."
She looked at little ghost with true fascination. It claimed that it's battles were fought merely for a feeling. A calling. Maybe in truth it was a calling. Maybe it would be a savior. A perfection needed to their cruel world.
"I hope to see you again little ghost," Cinelle said as she turned to walk away. Yet little ghost dashed past her at an amazing speed, only to stop in front of a bug that seemed to be a regular. His blue armor shined in the light of the fireflies.
His shield was a dull grey that with beautiful lines and patterns. He was a truly beautiful big with beautiful craftsmanship. As his words flooded to the ground away from Cinelle she kept walking forward. Not listening to the bugs cruel words to the small. A truly beautiful bug.
