just another day

first person:

I wake up to my alarm blaring causing a slight ring in my ears, yawning, the first thing I do is check my phone. I open snapchat "god, why is my phone so dry" I mumble quietly to myself.
After scrolling through a couple more tiktoks I finally decide to get out of bed. I have no time to shower, whatever. I make my way to through the hallway speed-walking just wishing with every bone in my body I make it to the bathroom before my sister does. Thankfully I do, I take a quick leak and wash my hands, I then brush my teeth and head back to my bedroom noticing my sister glaring at me while I walk down the hall, frustrated I got to the one upstairs bathroom first. I sigh and walk into my bedroom, stripping from the pajamas that I had slept in last night. I look through my closet and grab the first t-shirt and pair of jeans I see, I notice that I have no clean hoodies so I take one from my dirty laundry basket, take a quick sniff "its fine" I mumble and I throw it on. I walk downstairs and was greeted by my mothers glare, she speaks "you woke up too late for breakfast again, I worry for you sometimes y'know?" I breath in "I'm fine mom, I'll stop by Tim's before school" I say, knowing it's a lie. I grab my wallet, backpack and keys, a put on my old, worn down converse shoes and step out the door. 

I am not a morning person.

I step into my car, a 2017 Subaru Crosstreck, nothing special, it was a hand-me-down from my parents. I start up the car and on the way I go to pick up my bestfriend, Ash . He lives near by so its a part of my morning routine.  After a red light, and another, I finally arrive. I open my phone, then my contacts

yo, I'm outside of your

I will just be one minute,
just finding my textbook

After just a minute, as Ash promised, he came to sit in the passenger seat of my car. "yo pass me the ox" he said, "whatever, don't play anything shit please" I remarked "you know me I have the best music taste in this small ass town" Ash smiled. He puts on 'First Love/Late Spring' by Mitski. "Kinda depressing for a Monday, don't ya think?" I laugh, "whatever" Ash mumbles.

 I drove off and we got the the school in about 10 minutes.  We part ways, he heads to drama class, my first period is physics. I walk to my locker and grab my books, I see this boy, Nick I think his name is, we're headed in the same direction he's in my physics class. He's always caught my eye, I'm not completely sure why. I just brush it off.  

 I walk into the classroom, I'm sat right behind Nick, I try to think nothing of it but he just always sneaks his way into my mind. I sketch a little picture in the corner of my notebook while I'm supposed to be writing notes, I am doing alright in physics so not paying attention in one class wont be the death of me.

As my attention gets more and more drawn away from the lesson I just plug my headphones and play my favorite playlist. My mind slowly drifting off.

Nick's pov

I hear the light echo of music coming from behind me, the song is recognizable, its 'my shit' by a boogie wit da hoodie, I love that song its such a bop. I turn my head around to the boy behind me, the music must be coming from his headphones. He looks familiar, yeah he is in my class and all but I know I've defiantly seen him around, what's his his name again? Oh yeah, it's Y/N. I think that he is friends with River, my friend Elliot's girlfriend, that reminds me, Elliot is throwing a Halloween party, I wonder if he'll will be there. 

Whatever, I try to get back to my work but Y/N's music keeps distracting me, not necessarily in a bad way though. I turn around to ask him if he could send me his playlist but the second the words are about to come out of my mouth I hear a loud voice,

 "Nick! Do you want to pass this class?" the teachers asks, a little too loud if I might add, "Yes Mrs.Sorreniti, my apologies" I tremble, all eyes are on me, Mrs.Sorreniti has always been a rude lady "Then a suggest you pay attention, you are already failing my class" she shouts. Damn, why did she have to call me out like that? Infront of the whole class too. Why is she even so mad? A bad day maybe. This is so fucking embarrassing. I notice slight movement behind me, I turn around again and notice Y/N slowly taking out his headphone, his face in utter disbelief, he lifts his head to look at the teacher. 

He speaks up "what makes you think its okay to call out your student Infront of the whole class?" he says, slight anger in his tone, "excuse me?" the teacher replies, "I happen to think that your students grades should be confidential, did Nick give you permission to share his grades?" he says. I didn't know he knew my name, that's besides the point. "Y'know what... detention for both of you!" the angry woman shouts "but-" Y/N goes to speak but is cut off "I don't want to hear it!" He leans forwards, taps my shoulder, and whispers "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to get you detention" I turn to him "don't worry about it" I crack a smile.

He seems really nice, I wonder why he haven't talked before, he is a chill dude and he even defended me infront of the whole class, unlike Kaiden, my friend since elementary that happens to be in the same class. The bell goes and everyone makes their way out of the classroom for passing period. I walk up to Kaiden "so much for my own friend defending me" I tease, "I didn't need to, looked to me like your new little boyfriend got it" he teased back, "he isn't my boyfriend." I sneered.

first person, Ash's pov

The day seemed to pass by quickly after first period, I was about to head to the school parking lot when I remembered that I have detention with Nick. I just need to hope my mom's not too upset.
