I hate this. This is always the hardest part: trying to fake it. I strolled calmly down the street, accessing the situation as i approached the one i called my girlfriend.

She smiled when she saw me. "Hey. Fashionably late, aren't you? As always."

I was taken aback. Wait. She's joking. I forced a smile. "I can't quite help it. You know how getting up in the morning is." Widen the smile. My smile grew: it couldn't have looked more genuine.

She didn't call me here for nothing... "So...," I asked, bored, "what shall we do now?" I looked excited. Good. She looked like she would do anything for me. Ironic, isn't it?

She smiled faintly. Wait... she was trying to hide it. Act like you don't see it. "Why not the park?" she asked. Shit. I hate the park. Why did I have to say I liked it when she had asked me earlier? Bah. I walked up closer, forcing myself to take her hand. Always the worst part. "Great. Let's go." We headed off.

We strolled into scene, the nauseous smell of the park filling my senses. God. I led her into a soft spot into the field. At least the wind's blowing: this is killing me. I looked into her eyes. She was entranced: she ducked her head down. I'm obviously much better at this than I thought I was. Maybe I shouldv'e done acting when I was younger.

I held her around her Barbie-skinny waist, and I leaned in closer. Skin and bones. I leaned in closer, bracing myself for the kiss she was expecting. As our lips met, I tried not to pull them apart. Just get it over with. Our lips parted. "I love you," she told me.

Shit.

I grinned. I hate this. What do I do? Lie. "And you should know I love you too. Shall we continue our walk?" Get it over with... please...

"Of course," she told me. A mental sigh kicked in. I held her hand, as we continued our painful stroll. I need to get out of this crap. She was glad. Happy. Depressed.
