Chapter 4 - Levi

Second day at my new school. I got this. I keep telling myself as I walk to my first class. Speaking of; what is first class anyways? I pull out a crumbled piece of paper out of my binder and see that I have Spanish first. I suck at Spanish. I suck at every subject. My eyes are glued to my lame schedule as I keep walking down the hall. Bad Idea.

I bump into a girl accidentally and end up pushing her to the ground.  "Oh my God I'm so sorry", I quickly say in a  panicky voice. She dusts off her clothes and stands up.

"It's okay." she replies sweetly. She gets up and starts helping me pick up my binders and papers which have scattered across the floor. She suddenly stops when she comes across my lame book; Red Queen. My last mother's friend gave it to me as a going-away gift two weeks ago. Well that was a waste of money. I wanted to tell her when she said it costed $20. "Is this yours?", she asks quietly- fascination clear in her blue eyes? No; green. Definitely green. Of course! She's the girl from algebra!

"yeah", I say wearily.

"where did you get this, I cannot find it in any of my bookstores?"

"Going away gift", I reply numbly.

"Where did you move from?"

"Colora-"

"Licia!" Some guy with I saw from athletics comes over. He has dark brown skin and saggy pants. "Ready for tonight?", he asks. What's happening tonight?

"Yeah, I'm riding with Andie and Tyler." She says and walks off with him totally forgetting about him. Maybe that's her boyfriend. Just as I'm about to walk to English, someone taps on my shoulder, I instantly smile when I see it's her again. "Hey sorry about that", she begins, "Cory was just giving me my clothes back.", she holds the bag up.

"What?' I blurt out, wide eyed. Realizing what she just said, she corrects herself,

"We had a pool party last week at his place and I left my clothes there." A pool party in April kinda makes since, it's ninety degrees outside. "What's your first class?"

"Spanish", I grumble. She giggles.

"Spanish is easy."

"Do you take it?"

"no."

"Speak it?"

"No."

"Then how do you know it's easy?" I feel a smirk take over my features.

"Because it's Spanish!" she laughs. She has a beautiful laugh. I shake my head.

"you're crazy."

"I know."

"So what's going on tonight that...Cory was talking about?" I ask carefully.

"Party."

"cool."

"Wanna come?", you can meet a lot of people there." I already know my answer but I pretend to think.

"Hmmm, sure okay." If only I'd known this was the biggest mistake I've made so far.
