"jeongwoo stop staring." junghwan said, clearly annoyed. "it's just haruto. or are you another one of his fangirls?"

"no shut up." jeongwoo said, shaking the younger away with a quick swipe of his hand.

"are you that in love? it's been 2 years that we've been in a friend group together and now you're suddenly in love with him?" junghwan scoffed at the older who was leaning against his locker and staring at the boy who was surrounded by star-struck girls while talking to asahi, who also happened to be in their friend group.

jeongwoo hummed quietly in response, not really paying much attention to what the younger was saying.

the friend group jeongwoo and junghwan were in was... big, you could say. about 12 people? there was chaos guaranteed, but they rarely saw each other all together as they were so many and it was nearly impossible for them all the have the same classes.

but two or three would almost always be together every lesson.

and, as some had free periods while others didn't, some people were closer than others. jeongwoo spent most of his time with junghwan, his best friend from elementary school, and with doyoung and junkyu.

he was also quite close to jihoon, but didn't really spend as much time with him as he did with his smaller group of four. jihoon was usually with hyunsuk, jaehyuk and yedam.

and lastly, there was haruto, jeongwoo's new-found crush, and the three he spent most of his time with - asahi, yoshi and mashiho.

jeongwoo would always tell everyone he was equally close with everyone in the group, but he couldn't deny that he was closer to junghwan than any other person, and was more distant with haruto.

haruto never came to their meet-ups, claiming he was busy or feeling sick, so the whole group felt like they were more distant with him, but jeongwoo couldn't help but think it was his fault.

whenever haruto was with them, he was warm and fun, but jeongwoo kept noticing haruto 'avoiding' him and 'purposefully' not talking to him.

he couldn't help but think the reason that haruto didn't go to their meet-ups was because he didn't want to see him.

and it tore him up inside to think that his crush hates him.

"jeongwoo. class. hello~?" junghwan waved a hand in front of the older's face, whistling to catch his attention. "the bell rang. we need to go."

jeongwoo shook his head slightly and looked at junghwan. "mkay, class." he said distantly, looking around the halls.

"he left about a minute ago. i've got my next class with him. come on, we need to go or we'll be late." junghwan tugged at his sleeve, pulling him through the corridor.

"just go to your classroom. i'll see you later." he waved goodbye to the older before turning around a corner, leaving jeongwoo standing blankly in front of his classroom.

he stared into the wall in front of him expressionlessly, feeling his limbs go numb as he stood there.

"jeongwoo?" he turned around suddenly to see hyunsuk peeking out of the classroom. "you ok? come on, we've got class. don't just stand there." he put his arm around the younger's shoulder and led him into the classroom, sitting him down just as the class began.
