The man leaves the restroom and calls his girlfriends name. When he didn't get a response, he looks around the house, finally noticing the self-made cake with lots of decoration and a photo collage of them. He also finds the note on the floor and reads it.
Quickly getting dressed he rushes outside, into the pouring rain. He goes to everywhere he thinks she could be, but doesn't find a trace of her anywhere. He goes to the last place they were at together. All the running was something he wasn't used to, his legs feel like they're burning. When he started to lose hope, he sees her, dancing underneath a street lamp. He got on all fours, his legs giving out. He reaches out to her, trying to win her back. She doesn't notice him, continuing to dance in the rain, going further away. The man screams out as loud as he can, but it's falling on deaf ears.
He realises: "This is just like my nightmare". Failing to get up or catching up to her, he puts his head on the ground to cry.
Suddenly, he feels a hand pat his head. It's her! She returned! Before he could say or explain anything, she reaches out her hand, inviting him to dance. The two dance extraordinarily good together, but exchange no words. They love each other more than anything in the world, but have no idea about each other. They want to share a life together, but can't even live their own yet. They expected too much and disappointed another trying to force something that shouldn't be.
"Goodbye". "I'll think of you", they exchanged. The woman smiled while walking away, the man smiled too. At this moment they might have realised they need to work more on themselves before they can work together.
Or maybe they are happy to have had one last dance in the rain.
