                        Sixteen years later...

Trumpet fanfare filled the courtyard as Jungkook rode in on his black stallion; he was accompanied by five of his best friends, which also happen to be the most courageous knights in the kingdoms.

Jungkook got off his horse and handed the reins to a stable boy. "Make sure he gets plenty of oats and water." He tossed a bag of gold coins to the boy with a wink. The boy smiled brightly and gave the prince a sturdy nod before quickly walking off with the horse.

"You know he's gonna spend that all in one place, right?" Namjoon, the head of the royal guard, spoke as he took off his helmet. Jungkook smiled and shrugged. "He's a boy; let him have his fun." He put his hand on Namjoon's dark, blue-tinted armor. "Besides, he needs that gold more than I do," Jungkook said as he looked over at his other friends. "Ugh! It's so good to be back at the palace!" Jin said as he took in a deep breath. "Ah..." He relaxed his shoulders and closed his eyes.

"It wasn't that bad," Jimin said as he ran his fingers through his black hair. "You're being a little dramatic." Jimin rolled his eyes and got off his horse too. "He's just used to the pampered ways of the palace." Yoongi cut in, "I don't even know how he became a knight in the first place." Yoongi and Jimin snickered together as Jin's face scrunched up. "That's no way to speak to the second in command of the royal guard!" Jin stomped his foot and crossed his arms. Hoseok put his hand on Jin's shoulder and smiled at him. "Keyword, my friend: Second." Everyone busted with laughtrr, making Jin fume. "If you all will excuse me." He swatted Hoseok's hand off his shoulder and turned. "I have a rose petal bath waiting for me." He held his head high and walked off towards the palace.

Namjoon shook him with a smile. "What am I going to do with them?" He giggled and looked at Jungkook. Jungkook shrugged and started to walk to the palace as well.

They entered the throne room. Jungkook looked around at all the dragon skulls hanging on the crimson walls. Skulls his ancestors collected over the years. Yet there was an empty spot on the wall, for years Jungkook told himself. 'That's where my dragon is going to go.' But he has yet to have slain a dragon...

He marches up to the throne where his father sat, fat and happy with a smile on his now wrinkled face. "Kook, welcome home. Your journey has been long. It's wonderful to have you back, son."

Jungkook gave his father a short bow. "Thank you father." He smiled and looked up at him.
"So? Did you find what you were looking for?" His father asked as he leaned his cheek on his palm. Jungkook's smile fell. "No father, but I'm not giving up, I know he is out there somewhere. I can feel it. I'm going on another mission soon." He said with determination in his tone. "Of course you are." The king smiled. "We'll have a grand feast tonight in honor of your return." He stood and walked down the steps, hugging Jungkook. "Go rest, son, three months away from home can damage the soul." He patted Jungkook's back.

"Yes father I will." Jungkook bowed and walked to his room. Three months felt like an eternity to him, but yet everytime he returned to his home everything was the same. The same golden chandeliers, the same portraits of ancestors from the past, the same black, marbled floors, and the same mind-numbing, princely duties. Jungkook sighed as he walked into his room. He lit a lantern to see in the dark. Everything was spotless, not a thing out of place, and not a speck of dust in sight. He walked over to his bed and peeled the clothes off of himself. As if on cue the hand maidens knocked on the door.

"Enter." Jungkook said as they immediately entered the room, taking up his dirty clothes, and giving his bed fresh, warm sheets. "Shall I draw you a bath your highness?" His personal hand maid, Arora bowed to him. "Please?" He said back as she offered him a soft, red robe. "Right way." She bowed again and gathered the rest of the maids to prepare his bath. He had to admit, he had a bit of a crush on Arora. She was kind, and beautiful with green eyes and dark brown hair. She was a good listener too... But he had other things to worry about other than small crushes.

Once his bath was ready, he walked into the bathroom and sank into the tub, letting the hot water sooth his aching muscles. All the maids blushed at the prince's toned body. Years of training and working out, left his body rigid and muscular. Arora gasped at the large bruises on Jungkook's beautiful skin. "Your highness!' She said as she motioned the rest of the maids out. "What happened to you?" She sat on the edge of the tub and gently touched his shoulder.

"We had a run in with a few lowly thugs, nothing too dangerous." He smiled up at her as she pulled his bangs back. She thumbed his forehead. "Ow." He whined and leaned his head back on her thigh. "I told you to be careful on these ridiculous missions of yours!" She said as she took a sponge and dabbed at his skin, washing away dirt and grime. He rolled his eyes at her. "I am careful, you just worry too much." He stretched out his arms and looked up at her. She puffed out her cheeks, not satisfied with his answer.

"I'm sorry," he huffed and grabbed her hand, giving it a soft kiss. "I'll be more careful next time." He said softly as she looked away blushing. "You always say that." She said as she looked back at him.

She quickly washed Jungkook's back and left after putting some kind of cream on his bruises.
