Chapter 3: Agreement and memory

"So you're saying that somehow you were teleported here, and not just the three of you were sent?" Aiden asked Rengoku after he had answered all the Tanjiro-like person needed to know. Meanwhile, Ashley interrogated the other two, this time she was calmer and she seemed much more peaceful than when they first met.

"Yes! we consist of nine people, and are currently separated to scout the surroundings. we really don't know how we got transported here. I hope you don't see us as a threat!" Rengoku spoke in a rather reserved voice, but with a bright smile still on his mouth, Rengoku's blunt manner and friendly demeanor made him appear to be an honest and well-intentioned person. But somehow, Aiden could sense that his answers was not entirely correct, rather, he was hiding many other things. Even so, since Aiden had already grasped the situation of the mysterious guests, he didn't ask any more questions, moreover, he didn't want to be rude to them.

At that moment, Ashley also appeared with Obanai and Mitsuri. She called Aiden a fair distance away from the other three, then whispered something in his ear, her eyes constantly glancing at the three strangers standing in the distance staring at the two of them. Mitsuri, Obanai and Rengoku also wanted to know what the two of them were talking about, but they respected the other two enough not to interfere.

After a long exchange, Aiden and Ashley returned to Rengoku's group. They decided to help them and the rest of their group, on the condition that they exchange more information as well as help with their "work".

"There is one thing that I want you to keep in mind that we agree to help you not simply because I sympathize you, but this is an agreement. We help you and you will support us.  Although I'm not sure what you guys can do, but it would be nice if you could help us in some way."

Aiden informed them, his voice rather calm, but his eyes still searching, as if he was impatiently waiting for the answers of the three in front of him. Ashley frowned at the other three, as if she suspected they would actually agree to their terms.

The three pillars looked at each other for a while, when they didn't see any disapproval in each other's eyes, Rengoku decided to accept Aiden's terms.  However, Rengoku still wanted to add one more benefit of the pillars, Aiden when he heard Rengoku's condition also put his hand to his chin thinking for a moment, then looked at Ashley, then agreed to his condition. Ashley didn't say anything, she kept a serious face, it was hard to guess what she was thinking, so everyone assumed she didn't have any disagreement on this either.

The two groups agree on a few more things before separating.  Rengoku and the others hurriedly ran back to the gathering point of the pillars, while the other two watched them and then slowly turned away. Rengoku and the others were surprised to see the other pillars gathered in one place, it looked like they were exchanging information, some of them even had apples.

Sanemi noticed the other three, he didn't say anything, just motioned them to go see Gyomei, who was assembling the information the pillars had gathered as well as the one holding the apples.  When Obanai, Mitsuri and Rengoku went to see him to report back, Gyomei interrupted him, who gave the apples to the other three.

"Each of you should take at least one before you report" Gyomei said gently.  The three also quickly took one each, but Mitsuri took two. Suddenly, Rengoku loudly called everyone over, breaking the previous silence.

"Wow Tomioka! I almost forgot you were here too! When did you come back?" Shinobu still didn't forget to poke giyuu with a few sentences, the only response was Giyuu's silence and helplessness.  meanwhile, Uzui was looking at the two with bored eyes, still holding the half-eaten apple. but when they heard rengoku, the three didn't say anything more, they all walked over to Rengoku's place.
