Harry Potter One Shots

Cedric Diggory

   You and Cedric have been best friends since you were 11 when you bumped into him on the train and your cat jumped on him. Y'all sat together and started talking to each other about your families and your lives.

   When the sorting came you hoped you would be sorted in the same house as him. When you got sorted into Hufflepuff you were so excited. You and Cedric inseparable but now y'all are drifting apart because of a silly little crush.

   Ok, maybe not just a crush. You were falling in love with him. He doesn't need to know that though.

   Now it's y'all's 6th year and the whole school just found out about the Triwizard Tournament. When you and Cedric got back to the Hufflepuff common room he told you that he wanted to enter the tournament since he was of age and he thought it would be a cool experience.

   You were not of age yet because you would turn 17 in 3 months and by then you wouldn't be able to enter your name, even if you would never risk your life for something so stupid.

   You obviously supported him through his decision because he is your best friend but, you couldn't bear thinking about losing him in this tournament.

   Tonight at dinner they would be announcing the Triwizard champions. You hoped Cedric would get picked because you know it would make him happy but at the same time you don't want him to be picked for a tournament that could possibly kill him.

    While you walked to dinner with Cedric he was talking about what he would do if he was picked for the tournament. You just walked along with and nodded if he asked you a question because all you could think about was him getting picked and then you would lose him.

   He noticed this and stopped walking. He grabbed your arm and pulled you back towards him. "What was that for?" You asked very confused. "What's up with you lately Y/N? You're barely even listening to what I'm say and you've just kind of been avoiding me." He replies. "I don't want you to get hurt in this tournament if you do get picked." You say with tears in your eyes.

   "So that's why you've been avoiding me? Because of this stupid tournament?" He asks firmly. "Partly."  you say shortly. "What's the other part then?" He asks. "It's nothing." You say starting to walk off. "It's not nothing, I want to know." He says grabbing your arm and pulling you back again.

   "I said it's nothing, Cedric!" You yell running off to the Great Hall.

You're currently pacing in your room panicking. Cedric just got picked for the Triwizard tournament and you want to talk to him but y'all just got in that fight and you think he's still mad at you.

   "Stop pacing the room Y/N!" Your best friend, Hannah, yells from her bed. "I'm worried about Cedric. What if he gets hurt in this tournament! Or worse killed!" You yell back.

   Hannah is the only other person that knows about your crush on Cedric other than your mother. You were too scared to tell anybody else in case they decided ti tell Cedric how you feel.

   "He'll be fine. He's smart and he'll figure it out. He's probably having a whole party in his dorm right now with his friends." She says calmly trying to calm you down.

    Little did she know, Cedric was in his dorm pacing because he was also panicking.

Cedric's POV:

   When I entered my name into the goblet I didn't think I would get picked because of the amount of people from Hogwarts that entered too.

   When I heard my name get called I felt like I was on top of the world and I was so excited to bring some recognition to Hufflepuff and show we weren't weak but strong, smart and, brave. I'm just now realizing how complicate these tasks will be.

   I will have to face challenges that I would never think to complete in a million years, but here I am, a Triwizard Champion.

   I'm worried that if I die then I will leave Y/N all alone. I am so in love with her but the only people that know are my dad and my best friend, Zachariah. I've been in love with her ever since I met her. Just he beauty blew me away. When I was 11 I didn't understand what it felt like to love somebody but now that I'm older, I understand it perfectly.

   I have recently noticed Y/N getting more distant that usual. I have also noticed if I touch her she blushes but, I don't think she likes me there must be another reason for it. She can't like me she's my best friend. Well I can't really say much I'm in love with my best friend but, why would she like me?

The First Task...
Y/N's POV:

   Today is the first task and Dedric has just come to tell me that he has to battle a dragon. I'm internally screaming. I'm scared for him, I don't want him to get hurt or die because of a dragon.

   Right now I'm walking to the champion tent where Cedric and the other champions are waiting for the task to start. There are still 15 minutes until it starts so I thought I would say hello to him and tell him good luck.

    I walk in and see Cedric pacing in his little tent area with a cot in the middle of it. I walk up to him and says his name. "Cedric?" I say to get his attention. "Y/N! What are you doing here?" He asks surprised. "I wanted to come wish you luck before you go out there." You reply.

   To your surprise, he grabs you and pulls you into a big hug. Your head is resting on his chest and you feel his heart beating rapidly. His chin is resting on top of you head. "I'm so scared." He admits quietly so others won't hear him. "That's normal if you're about to battle a dragon." You say while laughing. "I know this is really irrelevant right now considering I'm about to go battle a dragon, but... will you go on a date with me?" He asks pulling away from the hug to look you in the eyes. "Yes. I would love to Cedric." You say.

   There are so many emotions and thoughts running through but you push them all away when he asks you out.

   The first task went well and now you are helping Cedric prepare for the second task. You are both sitting in the prefects bathroom trying to figure out the clue for the next task.

   You and Cedric are both underwater and are listening to the egg sing. When you go above the water you say: "You have to search the black lake for one hour for something special to you." You says when Cedric gets back up from the water.

   "How'd you figure all that out so quickly?" He asks surprised. "I don't know." You say.

   "Y/N, I need to tell you something." He says when everything goes quiet. "What is it Cedric?" You ask wanting to know what he had to say.

   "I'm in love with you. I've been in love with you ever since I met you on the train. Your so beautiful and your my best friend but I just thought you should know." Cedric blurted out.

   "I'm in love with you too, Cedric." You say smiling. "I wasn't going to tell you because I didn't think you would like me back but I'm happy that you feel the same." You add.

   Cedric pulls you in to kiss. The kiss is amazing, it feels like fireworks exploded. You have a bunch off butterflies in your stomach.
