Chapter 6 Fire

Rollan looked outside the window into the rain. Rollan was there to because he had let Essix go to hunt food but she hadn't come back. Abeke, Conor and Meilin were also there.

Conor said "Did Essix just caw?" Rollan then heard a distant caw. Then Rollan felt the feeling of the world rushing at him and saw through Essix's eyes. There was a fire! But where? Rollan snapped out of his trance and said "There's a fire!" They alerted other Stetriolians. Rollan and the others ran to the fire and with Essik's help they got there as soon as the could.

It was chaos spirit animals were running and flying and humans running and crashing.

Meilin said "Quick we need water!" they gave water to the people nearest to the fire and they throwed it at the fire. They worked quickly. The fire to Rollan seemed never ending.

When they finished Conor asked someone "How did the fire start?" "There were people in spiked black armor that came and lit every flamable thing on fire." said the Stetriolian.

Suddenly Rollan reported "There's another fire!" "Already? I'm exhausted." said one of the Stetriolians. "We'll call for backup and split into groups." said Meilin "I think the conquerors are invading."

Finally when they extinguished all the fires Abeke said "They're aiming for something." and she pulled out a map. "We started here." she said, pointing to a area on the map. "And we went in a pattern zigzagging to extinguish the fire and then  the next zigzag goes near a area with lots of stores and then the Stetriol castle so they're target is the castle." "You guys" Tasha said pointing to a group of people. "You will extinguish the store's fire and will then come to the castle." "Something smells fishy." said Kirat "Of course it smells fishy there's a store where there's burnt fish and ahhh walrus!" said Rollan, pointing to a store. "One I don't get why you are scared of walruses I've read they're peaceful creatures unless provoked and 2 not that something seems strange." Kirat said. "Ok let's head to the castle." Tasha announced. 

When they reached the castle Rollan said "Ha we're gonna stop them once again." "But still I agree with Kirat it seems a bit strange. They would probably know that we would figure that out so they might have done a different approach." Rollan shrugged and said "Let's just get our defenses ready."

They put up a defense with buckets of water in the outside with water so when they would pull a piece of rope the water would drop outside of the castle extinguishing the fire. Abeke had told them about this idea. She said that there were at least 3 fires every summer in Okaihee and this was the most efficient way to stop the fires. Abeke also had said that if the fire reaches inside we should defend by having having water near us at all times and all around the castle to throw at it. Tasha's mom looked like she didn't like the plan but nodded. Meilin was relieved that there was a backup plan.

After breakfast the next day he hears people shouting he finally realizes the words. The was a fire. Rollan thought there's a defense ready why are they scared? Conor appears and says "I heard someone say the defenses have got removed but don't know how because we covered the defenses to blend in and one person thinks there might be a traitor." Rollan thought it can't be Gerathon because there's no more bile but someone could have betrayed them. Probably one of the Stetriolians that the others were talking about. Wait if that happened we don't have a defense! What will we do I forgot my water bottle to use maybe I could rush and get it! Thought Rollan.

He got as many water bottles as he could and went to the front door to stop the fire.

When he turned around to get more water bottles he saw the conquerors come in from the back exit. He yelled a warning to everyone and others spread it.

They all got they're weapons and stayed they're waiting and getting ready. The archers attacked 1st. When some people died on the conquerors side some of the conquerors picked them up and used them as a shield. They are so ruthless more then even the oathbound. They don't even care about other people's death Rollan thought.

Everyone looked scared of them because much too much ruthlessness can cause lots of destruction. The archers fired instead at king Feliandor. He dodged and they hit others.

The archers kept firing especially Abeke as she was the quickest and best archer. He kept dodging and soon they were close to running out on arrows. Then one Stetriolian lit a arrow on fire and aimed it at Feliandor. He barely dodged and got a bit scorched.

The fire seeped in from the outside and a few others broke off from the fight and extinguished the fires.

Then finally the conquerors ran to them and started the fight. They all fought book using they're weapons and spirit animals. Rollan started throwing daggers and stabbing others. Rollan the saw a conqueror with a owl spirit animal and a big knife. Rollan thought that'll be a good enemy.

He was already fighting a different greencloak so Rollan leaped in to help.

While the enemy was distracted by Rollan he saw the other greencloak stab him. Essix was watching the owl fly away for life. Rollan advanced to see King Feliandor and his crocodile fighting Conor and Briggan. Abeke was trying to hit Feliandor with her arrows but was was busy with a conqueror that was swinging a morning star. Meilin was heading toward Feliandor but got stopped by 2 conqerors holding swords. Everyone he saw was trying to get Feliandor and end this.

Rollan got blocked of by another conqueror holding a staff. Rollan saw a snake curl up on the conqueror's shoulder. Must be his spirit animal thought Rollan.

Rollan attacked first with one of his daggers going to the side and the other to his leg. He saw out o the corner of his eye Essix swoop in and attack the snake. The conqueror blocked by his hands pushing them. Wait if he's using his hands to protect he isn't holding his staff. And he didn't see the staff. He quickly ducked and saw a staff swing where his head was and hit the conqueror's arm. The conqueror with the snake fall to the floor hissing in pain. Rollan stabbed at the conqueror in the back and heard a thump. He saw that he had hit the conqueror's leg.

Then Rollan went to Feliandor. He saw Conor with a cut in his thigh and a gash of blood on Briggan's shoulder.

Rollan threw his dagger and it found it's mark, right in Feliandor's arm holding the sword.

That gave them the advantage so Rollan was about to stab him and Conor hit him when his crocodile came and while Conor and Rollan were distracted with his crocodile Feliandor ran away with his crocodile going to passive state.

His army followed and Rollan seethed. The conquerors had escaped.
