I Never Broke Your Heart....(Shivika SS)

Time has the power to heal every big scar but not the one that is in your heart.

Annika was now always on the wheel chair, though she had to take some help from others to do her daily activities which though broke her from inside but it was not strong enough to break her mental strength.

It has been one year since Annika joined the 'Keep A Smile' NGO to help people who are deprived of happiness. The foundation not just help the poor to get three meals a day but also helps them in all possible ways. It also helps people to get free treatment in their own charity hospital. Moreover, it also helps people from different cities in need of any kind of medical help. Annika's work in the NGO was to basically look after the details of all the  patients in their hospital.

Today, Annika is headed to the hospital to check on the list of the new patients admitted and all of their details so that they could be paid the money and treatment accordinly. Upon reaching there, the nurse gave her all the files and reports of the new patients which Annika took unaware of the fact that the biggest shock of her life was awaiting her. The third patients identity shook her to the core. It was none other than Shivaay's file which was ofcourse confirmed by the passport size photo in the corner of the form, what shook her more was his condition stating that he was in a coma from the last two years. Annika got restless,many questions started to fill her head, 'how is this even possible?', 'how can Shivaay be here?'. Annika immediately asked the nurse to take her to this patient who was in room no. 004. The nurse took her to the room accordingly. Upon reaching to the room, Annika was completely numb because of the scene infront of her, Shivaay's senseless body connected to different wires and a machine monitoring his heart rate. For a minute Annika forgot everything and her heart started to cry seeing the love of her life in such a condition. She felt as if her Shivaay will now wake up and come to her hugging and  saying 'All this was a prank Ani, I wanted to surprise you!'. Annika's trance  was broken by the nurse who told her how Shivaay was brought here by the branch of their NGO in Bangalore. His condition was worst there in a government hospital. She also told Annika that he is a suspected victim of a road accident. Anika told the nurse to leave, she moved forward to Shivaay's seemingly lifeless body. She tried but could not hold her tears back.

''What the hell is happening Shivaay, you and I had planned so many things together, how can you sleep here in this way, don't you wanna see your Ani?''
Annika started sobbing loudly and came out of his room after a while and went to her cabin. She started going through Shiaay's files to find out any kind of details that she was missing out. Everything was clearly infront of her eyes when she saw the date of Shivaay's accident. It was exactly the same date in which she got into the accident that caused her legs to be paralysed for life. Everything got clearer and clearer to Annika as why Shivaay could never come to her after the accident because he never got the chance to as he himself was lying in his death bed.

Annika started to crying uncontrollably.
