On a small island was perched a small village, torches lit up the darkness as the view showed two large statues in the water.

This is Berk.

It's twelve days north of hopeless and a few degrees south of freezing to death.

Located solidly on the meridian of misery.

The water from below crashed onto a nearby rock and leaped up into the view.
Now looming over a few houses in the corner small village.

The village. In a word, sturdy.

The view climbed higher, showing off the plethora of houses.

Its been here for seven generations, but every single building is new.

We have fishing, hunting, and a charming view of the sunsets.

A herd of sheep was innocently feeding on blades of grass when...

The image cut to a young girl -- approximately seventeen years of age -- yawning as she pushed open the doors of a small hut on a distant hill.
Only to be greeted by a fury of red and orange.
She gasped and on instinct the girl dove behind the door.

"...dragons," Alexis -- the girl, also known as... Me -- breathed out.

Most people would leave.
Not these people.

They're Vikings.

They have stubbornness issues.

Alexis scanned the path to the blacksmith's hut before making a break for it.

My name's Alexis -- as you already know -- It's a wonderful name.

She weaved her way through the many Vikings running past.

I read it in a book somewhere and had to give it to myself.
After all... no one wanted me, and I needed a name.

She spotted a clear section, perfect for an unnoticed getaway--

"Thanks, Fishlegs," She huffed as the flames in front of her formed from the fires of a Deadly Nadder. Fishlegs had warned her of an incoming Nadder.

"No problem," The larger young Viking clung to his bucket of water, then ran off to put out smaller fires.

She took the opportunity to make way for the blacksmith but trailed as she saw another young Viking with a similar plan in mind.

The boy landed in a similar situation to what happened to her just a few moments ago.
