"So where did you go for half the party?" Mandy slurs.

We did drive here, but my house is only a few blocks away so I decided it's best for us to walk. I did drink a little, but I also don't have my license yet so it's not like I could have driven anyway.

The streets are dead, the only light their is so we can see where we are going in the mist of night, coming from the lampposts and the moon. I have Mandy's arm over my shoulder, helping her walk to my house. Although it feels more as if I'm dragging her instead of helping her.

Niall decided to drive her car home and said he would pick her up with it tomorrow. I was gonna ask why he couldn't just give us a ride, but he was going to stay way longer then we wanted, so this was the best option. He was drinking way more then the both of us, but he assured me he's been drunker then this before and that he was fine, not that he would listen to me anyways.

Niall is his own person.

Sure he's very friendly, and nice and protective over me and Mandy, but you'll never catch him taking orders from anyone but himself.

I guess that's what I admire about Niall.

He doesn't let the whole world walk all over him like a rug, instead he's the walker and the rest of the world is his red carpet.

But when it comes to me, Mandy and Niall both would kill anyone who would use my niceness against me.

I fucking love my family.

"Oh, I was just in line for the bathroom" I say, almost forgetting she even asked a question.

It goes quiet after that, only the sounds of our shoes on the pavement and the beautiful serenity of nature.

Suddenly, I start to lose my grip on the drunk girl in my arms. She slides off me like a sweaty slug, slumping to the ground and taking me with her. I struggle to catch her before her body hits the ground, but to no avail.

I end up toppling after her and with a grunt, we land side by side in the middle of this deserted road.

When our eyes meet, we can't contain the laughter that erupts from deep within us both. Cackling so loud the neighbors probably think we're witches casting a spell.

"What the hell Avis, you were supposed to catch me" Mandy laughs, playfully punching my shoulder. I scoff at her, punching her back as she just laughs harder.

"You weren't supposed to fall!" I counter. But its when bright head lights start right for us, only stopping a foot away, we stop laughing.

Mandy and I both strain our eyes to see who it is, and when his figure is finally visible, my breath hitches.

Harry?

What is it with him tonight? Always showing up.

"What are you doing here?" I ask him.

He doesn't say anything for a second, just staring at me with a bored expression.

Then he shrugs, "I thought you could use a ride?"

I furrow my brows in question, "Why?" I can't help but to ask.

After being a jerk to me the first night we met, then again by the bathroom, but also helping me with Mark.. He's kind of giving me mixed signals here.

"It's gonna rain soon." He points to the sky.

I look up, noticing the dark clouds coming in through the clear night sky.

Damn.

"Uhm, no it's fine, we could use the fresh air" I say, picking up Mandy from the ground. I hang her over my shoulder, turning to look at Harry again.
