"Uhhh!!!" moaned Ella loudly as she stirred in bed trying to remember what day it was. She tried to fall back asleep as she heard the rain hitting the window annoyingly loudly.

It was Monday in Dublin, Ella had just moved there 2 months ago from Cork. She didn't like Dublin, she found it noisy and busy. She was 14 and she was in second year in secondary school. She HATED it there, all the lockers were tiny and she didn't like her uniform, she thought it was itchy. Ella missed all her friends and the fun they had in the school near her house in Cork.

She rolled out of bed and dragged herself downstairs for breakfast. Her mum was on a work facetime call..like always. The only reason Ella moved here with her mum was because her mum had a promotion in the business she works for and it was based in Dublin. Ella loved her mum's job, she worked for Cadburys and every few months her mum would sneak home a few new chocolate bars that hadn't been released yet and they would eat them together in front of the TV. But that was all over now because her mum was promoted. All she did now was book things and make calls. Ella thought it was a stupid job but her mum quite liked it. And as long as her mum was happy Ella was happy, apart from one thing... Ella hadn't made a single friend since they left Cork and she's finding it very difficult to make any attempts. Ella poured herself some cereal and sat down to eat it.

Ella made her way to school. In her itchy uniform. She reached the door, took a deep breath and went in. Everyone was chatting and had cute fluffy pom-poms decorating their lockers. Ella was more of a quiet and shy girl. She loved History and Maths, she was good at them. At lunch, there was strange silence everyone was talking about the library that was closed. Apparently, weird things happened there. So the county council want to knock that library down and replace it with apartments.
