Ice Cream Struggle

Guren POV:

"Why would you cheat on me?!" I shout.

"This is a misunderstanding!" Mahiru states while in tears.

"How is this a misunderstanding? Is it normal to come home and find your girlfriend in bed with some guy." I say.

"GUREN YOU WOULDN'T GIVE ME ANY ATTENTION AT ALL! YOU ONLY CARED ABOUT GOING TO WORK AND JUST COMING HOME TO DO WORK!" Mahiru shouts.

"I'VE BEEN WORKING IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR US! ALSO, I GIVE YOU ALL MY FREE TIME BUT YOU SAY YOU HAVE PLANS ALREADY! IS HOOKING UP WITH GUYS YOUR PLAN?!" I shot back.

"SO? WHAT IF IT IS?!" She shouted but covered her mouth quickly.

I felt hurt by her words. So she's been cheating on me for the past 3 years. I thought that we had something. I wanted to have a family later in the future but that's all gone now.

"You know what? We're done." I say.

"Guren, no I didn't mean that!" Mahiru began.

"No. Don't contact me again. Stay away from me." I say.

"You can leave for all I care! I lost feelings for you anyway." Mahiru states with an annoyed tone.

"Great. It's settled then. I want you out by next week." I say.

"Fine." Mahiru says and walks in our once shared bedroom. I sighed and left the apartment. I walked down the sidewalk. I noticed that I ended up in the park. 

There were families with their children playing. I walked towards a bench and sat down. I watched as all the kids were sprinting like wild animals and the couples on dates. I faced down and stared at my feet. I could feel tears in my eyes. But my feet then were covered by ice cream in a cup. I looked up to see a woman standing there holding a cup of ice cream.

"Oh hello, sir!" She smiles.

"Uh hey." I respond still confused at the sudden action.

"I was wondering if you'd like to taste some the ice cream we make." She says.

"Sure." I say and take the cup from her hand.

I took a bit from it and it tasted great. Better than any ice cream.

"It tastes great." I say.

"Oh thanks! My friend Kai makes the ice cream and I help him." She says.

"That's cool. You're boyfriend or something?" I asked.

"Oh no. It's nothing like that." She says.

"Oh sorry for assuming." I say.

"No need for an apology. Although, I noticed you from afar and you seem pretty down. What's up?" She says as she sits next to me.

I felt a little hesitant. Could I trust them? I mean we just met like a minute ago but it wouldn't hurt for her to listen to my sob story.

"Well, my girlfriend and I broke up after I found out she's been cheating on be for the past 3 years." I say.

"Oh, that's awful. Although, it's a good thing." She says.

"What?" I say in shock.

"If you never found out, you would've been stuck with a liar for the rest of your life. Better knowing the truth than a lie. Knowing the truth hurts but lying is worse. At least to me. But relationships are hard. Y'know uh?" I said but stopped talking signaling for me to give her my name.

"Guren Ichinose." I say. She nodded.

"Nice to meet ya, Guren. The name's Y/N L/N! But back to what I was saying, people come and go. You'll find someone for you. A person who won't lie to you." She says.
