"NIKO!!!" Captain Hange said.
"Yes captain."
"Why so gloomy?"
"Huh?, oh am I?, sorry."
"Don't be you're surrounded by the best of the best, this mission will be a success."
"Right(if only you knew)."
Erwin tells us his speech and tells us to head out. Every soldier roared and the sound of horses trotting filled the air.
As we rushed out, I looked up in the sky I saw the beautiful clear skies once again. As I thought to myself I never really looked up. Never saw how beautiful the world was.
"Why you staring at the sky so much?" Connie asked.
"Just taking in the view."
"What?, the blue sky?"
"Yea, never seen it before."
Narrator POV:
Connie had a confused look on his face but then remembered where niko came from.
Niko knew what his role was but Erwin had other plans for him. Erwin met with Niko privately along with Levi. Just in case if things went south. That he's allowed to go on his own as long as he has hange permission.
But still a lot of things were running rapid in niko mind. He knows he can not rest and can not get distracted.
Soon the teams began to split, to survey the area, hange squad attended with Erwin.
*time skip*
Time has passed, Niko was set in the trees, sitting and waiting, he looked at his blades as already had 4 titan kills. He was waiting for the moment to bloom, as he remembered hange notes. Of every major event before she died. He would study it day and night. Names of the deceased and the alive.
Mikasa looked upon Niko, she was such a spitting image of Eren and herself. Niko looked back at her and gave her a small smile but it wasn't genuine.
Niko heard the Titans below scratching at the tree, climbing over each other.
"Tch."
He decided just to look at the sky and appreciate the fresh air.
"Hey you, future boy!" Jean said.
Niko looked over.
"Hm?"
"Why so silent all of sudden?, you were very enthusiastic when you met everyone."
Niko just looked the other way.
"Not gonna answer huh?"
"I just have nothing to say." Niko responded.
"Well you're gonna have to say something when I ask this."
"Is this mission going to be a success......or is it gonna fail miserably?"
"Hey Jean." Armin said quietly.
"I can't answer that."
"Why the hell not?, it should be appropriate to give your comrades a boost of moral."
"I....just can't, sorry."
Jean got angry as he went to Niko.
"GOT DAMN IT TELL US,YOU KNOW SOMETHING WE DONT!!" As Jean grabbed Niko by the collar and put him against the tree but Niko was unfazed but he did have a dead look of seriousness.
"Get your hands off me." As Niko shoved Jean.
"How many people die this mission huh?, how many graves am I gonna have to dig huh?, TELL ME!"
Niko clenched his fist, as he began to breath harder.
"This is your final warning Jean, shut your mouth." Niko said.
"You wanting me to have my mouth shout?, kinda ironic coming from you."
Niko began to chuckle.
"You're not wrong." As Niko looked at him with a dead and frightful look. Eyes widened and not a single blink.
"Alright that's enough you two." Armin said.
Niko calmed down, Jean just looked the other way,then soon Niko heard a loud bang as his hearing was sensitive.
"It's time." He told himself.
"Sir, permission to leave.?" Niko asked the captain.
The captain gave him a nod.
Niko then left and headed out.
"Where the hell is he going?" Jean asked.
"That doesn't concern you." The captain said.
"Tch."
Niko went through the forest as he gripped his swords, preparing for his first mission.
