Surfing it's the most basic human element and one of the hardest to obtain would cut off from civilization and the supply chain. Tomas whose only experience outdoors came from his boy scouts days his father had forced on him. Several camping trips with his grandfather flashed before his eyes. He needs to set up camp, find food and find a source of greasy water. Hurriedly he got to work. His brother and sister huddled next to their mother's body. The silent stranger helped him work. Tomas watched as the others formed little pods. Within the hour all the supplies had been gobbled up. Tomas knew things would get bad once people got hungry. An he had little faith in other peoples loyalties. Putting his sister in charge of there brother he told the quite man he would bring back food.
Fearlessly he made his way towards the branches. An older boy was heading in the same direction they walked in silence finally the older teen spoke."This is a shit hand"
"Yea," was all Tomas could muster as he looked widely at the counts at the top of the tree. "You weren't going to climb up there, we're you?" The stranger asked looking increased. "Yes I am, what split you?"
"Oh, sea the mountain top"
"Yea"
"I'm going to make a beacon signal for help," The teen said flicking a lighter. "How about this, help me get the fruit and I'll help you get to the top of the mountain,"
"Deal" The two guys made Quick work of getting the coconuts down. And within half an hour they were off to the side of the mountain ready to signal for help feeling very much accomplished they thought that they would be the ones to save everyone.
Once at the top of the mountain Vincent lit the match on fire held up the kindling and watched as the side of the mountains burst into flames. Quickly making his way back down he confidently cried out."I'm the king of the world!" Just as his feet hit the ground an arrow pinned him to the rocky surface. Desperately he tried to free himself. A second arrow to the eye ends his struggles. Tomas is back in the cage clutching his phone shakily. He recorded everything. Men dressed in makeshift clothes and furs pierced Vincent with the spears and carries him away. He wasn't sure how long he stayed hidden but when he came out he searched for any sign of them. All that was left was Vincent's lighter. Grabbing the lighter he ran back to the shoreline. Stumbling and bumping in the branches and trees as he went he frantically tried to get back to his people away from the savages. The closer he cut he managed to see a few people.
The view Made him weep as he clung to a woman he told her what he saw her words rang back like shook. "Blood, oh my stars, germs, I need sanitizer" she fumbled through a water-soaked bag as if his words had no meaning."We're stranded on an island full of cannabis and you are worried about hand sanitizer" he scoffed. Moving past her he told the teen's friend what had happened. He put the lighter in her hand and walked back to his family and the quiet man. To his surprise, the man had fish and fire. Tired eyes smiled at seeing the coconuts. "Good, find," he said in a low gruff voice that sounded strained.
"Yea," The boy tucked himself in next to his family staring out into the ocean. A group of men and boys approached him later demanding to know what happened. Pulling out his phone he showed them."They took him..." murmurs passed through the group. The twenty or so survivors huddled up close around Tomas and his family. They slept in shift the sound of the island frightening even the biggest man. Strange in human sounds sent shivers down their spines.
In the morning they awoke to a horrible sound it sounded like a woman being killed. Two men ran into the woods and never returned. Their numbers were beginning to dwindle and the reality of their situation was beginning to set in. No one was coming to save them, the island was inhospitable and they were running out of ideas. It was Tomas who suggested they build a better hideout. That they build weapons. This is where the argument began and a divine occurred some just did not think that it was smart to Weaponized themselves. Emery; A 63-year-old woman ended up leading the group their stance with him they were going to try and go about this peacefully. Emery took about 10 people with her. Which left Tomas with everyone else. A mother, her two boys, Laya; Vincent's best friend, Victor the quiet one, his siblings, mother, and two older boys who were scared out of their minds. To be honest they didn't stand a chance but Thomas would be damned if he wasn't going to give it his best shot. All was quiet as the two groups spread out along the shoreline. An for a whole week they lived in what seemed like a Maroge, just going through the motions to make it to the next day all they were doing was surviving unaware of what was lurking just outside of the View.
