"Seokjin," The omega groaned and pulled his blanket over his head. However, Namjoon just proceeded to shake him. "Baby, wake up. You gotta see this."
"See what?" Seokjin grumbled as Namjoon tugged the blanket off of him and pulled him out of bed. The omega was led to the window where he was immediately met with white as far as the eye could see. "Holy shit, it actually did it." He stared in awe at the inches of snow covering the ground and the flakes that were still falling. "Glad I went ahead and did our shopping for the week yesterday."
Namjoon nodded, his eyes full of childlike innocence. "I've lived here my whole life and have never seen this much snow."
Seokjin turned to his mate with a soft smile. "You wanna go play in it, don't you?"
Twenty minutes later, they were both bundled up and traipsing through the snow as if they were pups again. Even though the snow was powdery and therefore didn't stick together very well, that didn't stop them from attempting to build a snowman or throwing it at each other. When Seokjin landed a failed attempt at a snowball directly in Namjoon's face, the alpha began chasing him, laughter filling the otherwise quiet air. It didn't take long for Namjoon to catch him, grabbing him by the waist with enough force to send them both falling into the cushion of snow.
The couple continued to giggle as they caught their breath, Namjoon reaching up to gently brush the hair that was falling into Seokjin's eyes beneath his beanie. "Happy Valentine's Day."
Seokjin blinked. "Shit, you're right. It is Valentine's Day." Namjoon chuckled as he leaned down to press their lips together, Seokjin wrapping his arms tightly around the alpha to hold him close. Seokjin wasn't sure how long the kiss lasted when the cold from the snow finally began to seep through his clothes. "We should go inside now." He mumbled against Namjoon's lips, the alpha stealing one more kiss before climbing off of him and helping him to his feet.
A warm shower and a pot of hot chocolate on the stove later, the two were cuddled up on the couch to begin their Valentine's Day tradition of watching cheesy, terrible rom coms and making fun of the cliches. The only thing missing was the fact that they couldn't order pizza as no one was delivering in the snowstorm that was still coming down...at least until the power went out on them.
They were quick to break out some candles to provide light and gather all of the blankets in the house. "Well..." Seokjin sighed once they were back on the couch. "What are we gonna do now? Our Valentine's Day is obviously over."
Namjoon raised an eyebrow at him. "No, it's not."
"We can't watch any movies, Namjoon." Seokjin pointed out.
"Then we find something else to do." Namjoon shrugged as he looked around at the blankets. "Let's make a fort."
Seokjin gave him a flat look. "Seriously? A romantic pillow fort? You know I don't like over the top romance shit."
"Who said it was going to be romantic?" Namjoon retorted as he started moving their blankets around. "Plus, you deserve a special night after this past year."
Eventually they dragged in their dining room chairs and built a fort around them, one that resembled one they might have made when they were young pups rather than an effort filled comfort zone. After it was finished, Namjoon disappeared into the kitchen for a few minutes, coming back with his arms full of every type of junk food they held in their cabinets, dropping them in a pile in front of Seokjin. "Let us feast!" Seokjin giggled as he picked up a pack of gummy worms.
The next couple of hours--they assumed, as their phones died at one point--were spent with them pigging out while sharing stories from their respective workplaces that they hadn't told each other before. Occasionally a mini food fight would break out, ending with laughter and kisses before they resumed storytelling.
"Thank you." Seokjin said after a while.
"For what?" Namjoon asked. Seokjin shrugged slightly, but from the look on his face, Namjoon knew what he was thinking about. "You don't have to thank me."
Seokjin let out a quiet sigh before saying, "You're just always there, with the right thing to do or say." He snuggled closer to the alpha, wrapping his arm around his waist. "I don't deserve you."
Namjoon shook his head, brushing Seokjin's hair out of his eyes again. "I'm the one who doesn't deserve you."
Before the omega could protest, Namjoon pulled him into a kiss, hand moving to his cheek where he gently rubbed his thumb over the smooth skin. Seokjin pressed up against him, kissing him back passionately as his mind raced through all the reasons he loved and was grateful for having Namjoon in his life. As he thought back over the past year and how supportive Namjoon had been through everything--when he'd nearly had to close the restaurant for good because of the pandemic, when his mother had come down with COVID and he couldn't go visit her, when he'd lost their pup--he put more fire into his kiss, pressing against Namjoon until the alpha rolled onto his back. Seokjin immediately climbed on top of him without breaking the kiss, lightly grinding his hips and moaning quietly into Namjoon's mouth.
Namjoon made a small noise of his own before pulling back just enough to speak. "We don't have to." He said quietly, still caressing Seokjin's cheek. "Just because it's Valentine's Day doesn't mean we're obligated to have sex. I meant it when I said I would wait for you."
Seokjin smiled down at him. "I know." He paused to allow Namjoon to process that before kissing him again, this time letting his hands trail to the bottom of Namjoon's sweatshirt and push it up.
They worked their clothes off one by one, the heat they shared staving off the chill that had settled over their home as Seokjin sank down on Namjoon's member for the first time in nearly six months. He didn't move for a while, just savoring the feeling of being so close to his mate, their chests pressed together as they shared soft kisses. Namjoon was the first to move, gently gripping Seokjin's hips as he began to thrust up into him at a slow pace, moaning quietly into his mouth.
"Joon," Seokjin mumbled, earning a hum from the alpha. "Go a little harder."
Namjoon listened well, tightening his grip on Seokjin's hips the tiniest bit so he could thrust deeper into him, increasing his pace slightly. "Like this?"
Seokjin nodded. "Yeah, that's good." He pressed his lips to Namjoon's again as he began to move his hips with Namjoon's, helping him to reach even deeper inside him until he hit the spot that had Seokjin nearly screaming in pleasure.
They were too enthralled into each other to recognize how much time passed before Namjoon's knot formed, locking them together as they finished simultaneously. Seokjin lay panting on top of Namjoon when brightness flooded their apartment, causing them to blink spots out of their eyes. "Power's back." Namjoon chuckled while rubbing Seokjin's back.
"Really? Couldn't tell." Namjoon let out another chuckle as he softly kissed the omega once more.
