"Come on Kriana dear, it is 6:30 A.M. already. Get up please or else you'll miss school today", came Aunt Amelia's voice from the kitchen.

Kriana Fernsby was a 12-year-old, miserable orphan. She lived with her 12-year-old cousin, Eleanor Fernsby, Aunt Amelia Fernsby and Uncle William Fernsby- who were all residents of Number 25, Millikens Street and the name of their house was 'The Hockinsworth'. Although her relatives treated her well and considered her a part of their own nuclear family, Kriana lost comfort in their presence year by year.

She was engaged in reading books about the dead and learnt all about life cycles and why a soul has to leave a family forever- which she had an experience of. She always wondered why dead people couldn't come back. These thoughts always isolated her from her classmates and students who were her friends when she was young.

To not miss school that day, Kriana quickly took a shower, wore her school uniform which was a pair of dark green skirt and a light green shirt with the logo of her school, 'Dralisburn School', printed. In addition to that, a blue coloured cardigan, formal back shoes and clean white socks were worn.

When she went downstairs, she saw everyone had already gotten ready and were having their breakfast.

"What happened, dear? Why did you take such a long time to get ready today?", asked Uncle Wiliam.

"Nothing, Uncle. Was just a little absent-minded today. I'm fine." replied Kriana.

Her words "I'm fine" gave Uncle William and Aunt Amelia a better picture that she was not well. Yes, that was true. Kriana was feeling extremely uncomfortable. Something was unusual about it.

"Oh no! It's 7:45 already. Quick, quick leave now otherwise you'll have to come back home" cried Aunt Amelia.

"Bye mom", Eleanor told her mom and followed her dad to the car.

"Bye Aunty", Kriana told her Aunt and followed Eleanor to the car, grabbing her school bag.
