it had been a few days, eren had not returned. his car was gone the morning after and you had no clue where he was. maybe you were too harsh on him? you had to admit, you were worried.

you had met up with the group, checking to see if everyone was okay and you apologised to everyone for what had happened, but according to connie and armin, jean had said a few things he shouldn't off, pissing eren off in the process. they wouldn't tell you what though.

you didn't regret going off at him, sometimes, it was needed. eren had to understand that if he was to be around you, and the others, that he couldn't do this.

you missed eren, and was worried if he was okay. you had a green tea face mask on with your hair tied back as you were studying before you decided to send him a text.

you
eren

almost immediately, you got a response.

roommate eren 🧍‍♂️
[name]

you
where are you?

roommate eren 🧍‍♂️
at a friends...
i assumed you didn't want to see me?

you
can you come home?

roommate eren 🧍‍♂️
i'll be there soon

you let out a relived breath before deciding to leave your textbooks at the island bench for a moment, and decided to clean up, cleaning your face off and brushing your hair. you made yourself a simple smoothie bowl and made one for eren, knowing he wouldn't have ate, adding granola and fresh fruit.

just as you sat down, the door rattled and eren walked in.

"hey," he breathed out, slipping out of his shoes. he looked like a kicked puppy.

"hey," you noticed, he looked good, as always. the under of his eyes were a tad darker, it must've been hard for him to sleep. you pushed the bowl forward, "come eat."

he did it silently, looking down at the bowl and wouldn't make any eye contact.

"eren, please don't make me feel worse than i already do," you sighed, closing your eyes and massaging your temple.

"i--... that's not it... i'm sorry, [name]..." he dropped his head, a hand in his hair as he furrowed his brows, "i didn't mean for that all to happen, we were actually having a good time! connie and i were catching up on stuff... then, fucking jean... you should've heard what he was saying! it was disgusting. he was talking about you like you were an object! it was filthy," he spat venomously, hands tightening at the memory.

you didn't know this.

"he just kept going on, and on about you... and i fucking lost it, yeah," eren admitted it, with no shame, "i don't regret it, he couldn't say that shit about you! i can't stand that fucker..."

"neither can i, he's too full of himself," you added, bobbing your head before your eyes met with his, "i didn't know he was saying stuff like that, kind of glad you beat his ass. but he was probably just doing it to get a rise out of you..."

"he's such a dick," eren groaned, running fingers through his locks.

"a cunt indeed," you agreed with him. you grabbed his hand opposite you, brushing your fingers over his knuckles, "are we okay, eren? are you upset with me?"

"no, no, not at all, i could never be upset with you," his larger hand wrapped around your own, giving it a warm and gentle squeeze, "we're okay."

"we're okay," you repeated back to him, a smile forming on your face, "now finish your food," as he ate, you were telling him about a new series you were watching: euphoria.

"there are like... so many dicks..." eren rose a brow at your words as you clarified, "like-- literal dicks."

"oh."

"yeah... we should watch it tonight, i'm at this part where maddy is about to confront nate's family!"

"is that the 'the highkey homophobic and abusive' dude you said?"

"mhmm!" eren looked like he needed a good distraction so you grabbed his keys, "why don't we go shopping? maybe get a new couch?" you asked him, pointing over at the empty space.

the two of you left shortly after, getting in eren's car as he drove to the nearby ikea.

"okay eren, whatever you do, don't get lost," you told him, remembering the memories going with your mother and getting lost for hours in the store.

"pfft, i'm not five, [name]," eren playfully rolled his eyes, dodging the various people around.

"so couches are this way i think," you turned around to meet eren's eyes, but he was gone, "eren? EREN? oh for fucks sake..."

you began to wonder the store, searching high and low for the tall male. "how does this dumbass get lost?" you groan to yourself out loud.

meanwhile, eren was standing in front of a bathroom toilet, trying to get a hold of you via his phone. as he tried to call you, he felt something buzzing in his pocket, "great, this dumbass forgot their phone..." he pocketed the phone before wondering around the store.

you saw a customer service desk sign and began walking towards it, hoping maybe eren would've done the same. it took a while to get there as the store was huge but you managed to get to it.

"hello there! can i help you?" the man behind the desk asked.

"hi sorry— can i ask a favour?"

meanwhile, eren was trying to read the swedish lettering when there was an announcement over the speakers. he recognised the voice, it was yours:'if anyone has seen a little boy, brown hair, green eyes, six feet tall, looking a little homeless, please bring him to the service desk for his mum to collect him.'

"what the fuck?" eren cussed as a few people eyed him. he stood there as everyone whispered around him.

an old couple approached him, "are you lost, little boy?" they didn't let him respond before grabbing his wrist and dragging him over to the service desk where you were standing there.

once your eyes made contact with his, you gasped fakely, "oh! my baby boy... oh you found my baby... come to mommy," you tightly hugged him, laughing internally. you thanked the old couple before dragging your 'baby boy' back to the car.

"[name]... what the fuck?"

you let out a chuckle before resuming a mother persona, "now, eren, please don't do that again, you had me worried sick!" you lectured him, motherly like. his eyes widened, you sounded just like...

"eren?"  he looked up to meet with the caramel ones of his mother, her ponytail hanging low on her shoulder, "did you have fun today?" it was his first day of primary school, he didn't like it much. it was hard, he had to talk to other people.

that was hard.

"no..." he grumbled, his voice muffled by the silk of her dress as he buried his head in her lap. her hand was running through his short hair, the feeling soothing him instantly.

"i miss you mum..."
