3rd person POV

Jungguk looked out from the window. It's so boring. Every day of his life, he has been doing the same thing over and over again for years now. It's so rotational that it even makes him nauseous sometimes.

He was lying on his hospital bed with a cannula attached to his left hand. Humidifier doing its job giving a soft sound. Beside his bed, there stood some hospital machines from time to time in which his life was hanged on.

He knew neither jin nor namjoon will come to the hospital today until it was evening and they'd be super busy. He was told that Namjoon's younger brother who was studying in some other country is flying back to Korea and they'll both be taking leaves today to welcome the said boy.

Jungguk wondered how it'd feel to be normal. He wondered how other normal and healthy boys at his age would be doing. He wondered what college life feels like. He wondered how it'd be to have fun with lots of friends doing all those crazy adventurous stuff together. He wondered how it'd be... he wondered and wondered... That's all he could do anyways.

sigh

It used to make him cry. Shed tears over how he will never be able to be healthy, be normal. Soon he realized it was pointless to do so. Crying only hurt his eyes and gave him a headache later on. He realized it's worthless to cry over things he couldn't grab into his life. Living in a hospital, he saw terrible things which made him realize that he is still lucky. Lucky to be alive. Lucky to have all the limbs fixed. Lucky to have jin hyung. Lucky to have namjoon hyung. Lucky to have all his friends. Lucky that he still has some time. Lucky to have at least a little bit of hope left. Lucky that he is still doing well. Lucky he woke up and his condition is stable. Lucky that he's being fed and cared for. Lucky to be loved. He considered himself lucky, fuck the fate!

He knew, that his life isn't easy either, but he trusted himself enough to fight. Fight for Jin Hyung, the most. That old dude has been his everything and jungguk knew that he wants jungguk to be alive as long as he can. Thus, Jungguk fought for jin.

Jungguk just lay on the bed, eating what he was given along with the medicines. He read books all day long. From time to time he took some naps and other times he busied himself on social media.

At sometime around evening, he was shook awoken by someone during his nap. He peeled open one eye and looked up to see who it is.

"Gukkie, you awake?" Jin hyung asked while he was sitting on the hospital chair which was kept right next to jungguk's bed. Jungguk nodded while rubbing his eyes to get rid of the sleepiness. Jin stood up and helped jungguk sit on the bed while his back was supported by pillows and the headboard of the bed.

"How are you feeling gguk?" Jin asked while he grabbed jungguk's hand with the cannula to check for any infection or anything. Sure, jungguk is under the supervision of nurses and doctors but Jin being jin couldn't just trust others. Mistakes might happen because, at the end of the day, doctors are just humans after all. Jungguk is the last family that jin has and he isn't gonna lose him like that. Jungguk knowing his hyung well, just let jin do his thing.

"Sleepy." Jungguk replied after a big yawn. Jin just smiled with a hum. He put his stethoscope in his ears and lifted jungguk's shirt just enough for him to check his heartbeat. His brows furrowed in concentration. Then he grabbed jungguk's latest file from his drawer, reading it thoroughly.

Another happy hum.

"Feels like you are improving gguk." Jin said, settling back down on the chair.

"You say that every day," Jungguk said.

"I do because it's the truth," Jin said.

"Where is Namjoon hyung?" Jungguk asked.

"He is busy.. Am I not enough? Look at me, look at this handsome guy over here! Look at your amajin brother!" Jin said jokingly. Jungguk chuckled. Though jin won't show it, he'd do anything to see jungguk smile and be happy. Ok, well- maybe he shows it too. He just loves his baby so much.
