Do you remember that job I interviewed for a couple hours ago? Well, it turns out, I may have figuratively sold my soul to a demonic entity, and bargained for way more then I signed up for.

Or should I just say that this job was already seeming to want to give me a hard time despite the fact that I hadn't even started working there yet.

It almost seems a bit ridiculous that it took about four alarms to wake me up at midnight, and it was was definitely not a good sign for how the rest of my night was going to go.

Still half  asleep, I pulled the covers off of myself as I stretched my arms, groaning a little as I felt some of my joints popping satisfyingly. I felt a bit groggy, and a bit out of touch with the whole night owl routine I'd have to form. It had been a whole year since I had to have a serious schedule after all.

I wasn't really much of a night person anyways, but somehow I really could only find positions that were hiring for a night shift, which is a little ironic when you think about it.

I sat up and swung my legs off of my small twin bed, rubbing at my face in order to wake myself up more. I then looked over to the small little nightstand next to my bed, and grabbed ahold of my phone, checking the time.

I could feel as my eyes widened, "Crap!" It was already 12:16 am.

I immediately shot up and practically dropped my phone back onto my bed, racing to my drawer and frantically grabbing ahold of any clothing that would be suitable to take to work. I grabbed ahold of a green T-shirt and some old jeans of mine, and wasted no time in changing.

"God..I'm gonna get fired already.." I complained to myself, as I tied the laces to my shoes and then made sure that everything I needed was in my bag.

I then quietly but quickly made my way to the bathroom, making sure to fix my hair and wash my face so I wouldn't fall asleep and get into a car accident on my way to the Pizzaplex.

Once I deemed it appropriate, I made sure to grab my phone and a jacket, and quietly crept down the hall to the front door, not wanting to wake my brother, Jonathan, up.

But it turned out, I didn't really have to worry about waking up my brother, because he was currently awake and seated at the dining table, looking over some paperwork from god knows what.

He looked at me as I tried to awkwardly make my way past him without him actually noticing, "You know you are terribly loud."

"Sorry." I said, feeling a bit bad about causing a ton of noise so late in the night, "I'm gonna head out right now, heading off to work."

"Work?" Jonathan asked in a pretty surprised tone of voice, looking up at me, "You didn't tell me they hired you. That's really awesome to hear."

"Yeah it is." I replied, fiddling with the keys to my car in my hands, looking over at the front door. My brother noticed that I seemed to be running a bit late, because he looked down at the work he had in front of him again.

"Well I won't keep you waiting here any longer, I'll leave you some food for when you get back, but make sure you get something to eat before you get there, alright?" Jonathan said, with a really parental tone of voice that really reminded me a lot of mom.

"Yeah..yeah I hear you." I said simply, walking to the front door and opening it, feeling the cold air hitting my face.

Jonathan didn't say another word, so I stepped out of the house, closing the door behind me, standing there for about a minute, gathering my thoughts.

"Alright, let's go." I said to myself, skipping down the porch steps and heading over to my car.

I made sure to keep every ounce of optimism that I could. Everything would turn out alright.
