Return of the Caveman

Miss Morgan had called us into the main area to show off the dino bike she was making, Chase messing with the engine like a little kid who got their first remote-controlled car

It was kinda sweet, to say the least. The only issue was, Koda had woken up and charged out with a stick in a defensive stance. Chase didn't stop messing with the engine though, he was too engrossed in the design to notice

"Sorry, we didn't know you were sleeping!"

I walk over to Koda, remove the makeshift weapon from his hand, and lean it against the desk and moving to lean against my brother

"Kendal- Miss Morgan. Was just showing us our new dino cycles!" Shelby announces

"Come on over, take a squiz"

I laugh, patting Chase on the shoulder, as my brother looks at him as if he grew another head

"A squiz?" Tyler and Riley echo

"Yeah, a squiz- you know, a look?... Ugh! Sometimes I wonder if I'm speaking english"

"Me too" Riley laughs at the New Zealander, who huffs under his breath

"Take a look, Koda. It's got everything from laser blasters to energy blasters and most importantly! I look really good on it" Chase revs the engine again, the bike reeling up onto the back wheel

Falling into fight or flight instincts, Koda snatches the stick from the side again and whacks the front wheel of the bike

Everyone yells out in surprise, stepping back from Koda to avoid the stick

"Sorry... my instincts say- danger."

"No apologies, I totally get it. Where you're from, anything that makes a strange sound is a threat"

Shelby's phone starts to ring, Koda turns and smashes it, Chase and I start to laugh quietly as Koda begins to apologise

"No apologies mate, she totally gets it"

"Yeah Koda, don't worry about it, Shelbs knows you didn't mean to" Shelby huffs at us as Miss Morgan begins to explain

"Hes grown accustomed to morphing into a ranger but-"

"Some modern things still give me... nervous?" Koda finishes off

I nod slowly as Chase begins to talk to him again

"You just need some pointers, I've ridden everything from rollercoasters to kangaroos. If anybody can teach you how to ride, it's me"

"Or, we can disregard Zealand boy here and I can help you out at a slow pace." I place a hand on Kodas shoulder, knowing Chase for as long as I already have, he doesn't know how to take his time with this sort of thing.

"Hold on, there aren't any Kangaroos in New Zealand, those are in Australia." Riley mockingly points out, Chase sighing about details before leaving the base with Koda

"I'm gonna tag along with them, make sure Chase doesn't scare Koda even more- Riley remember to call Iz and-"

"Wish her good luck on her competition for you? I'm on it"

I nod, grabbing my orange skateboard and energem and dashing off

"SIB YOU FORGOT YOUR- helmet... why do I bother with them?"

Chase had found a spare bike for Koda to practice with, the small yellow bike had stabilisers on the back to give him a little bit more support
