Ochako POV
Walking swiftly to the nurse's room, but not too fast in order to be unsuspected, I make my way down the hall. Hanahaki disease... The words ring in my mind. Before I know it, I'm already at the nurse's office.

*knock knock*

...

"Hello there! How are y-"the young nurse's aide stops. "Oh no! Are you okay? You look sick!" I put my hand to my face. It's hot and fevered, but I feel cold. "I- I'm here for a test."I say bravely.

Five minutes later...

The nurse and her aide are questioning me of symptoms, and taking blood samples. They said it'll be over soon, but I'm starting to feel the flowers again.

Suddenly, I jerk out of my haze. The flowers quickly flurry up my windpipe and I spew flowers and blood on the floor. "O-oh, oh my!"cries the aide. The nurse breezes in with a mop and cleans it up. Then she hands me a paper. In big bold words amongst small print, it says:

Hanahaki Disease
One Sided Love Syndrome

(I'm not sure if it's a syndrome but I put it there to look more✨ professional ✨)

I gasp. So it's true...

Tsu's POV
It's almost school's end time, though I haven't started my 'work' yet. My father came in a few times, but I didn't get hit any more. Just yelled at.

I miss Ochako.

*Riiiiing!*
That's her school bell! I hope she comes straight home...oh god! I've been thinking about her the whole day! Do I really... like her? And if I do, what will father say? H-he'll disown me... I sit, lost in my thoughts until I hear the sound of light coughing from down the road. "Ochako!"I can't help myself from calling, but she doesn't hear me. Instead, my father does. "Who's Ochako?"he says, coming up the ladder with a smirk on his face. "You know you're not allowed friends, honey..." The word honey is dripping in sarcasm and fake-ness.

"O-oh, Ochako is just the name of my...er...my character!"I say quietly. "Ochako, you're home!"I hear one of Ochako's parents call from outside. I glance out the window. She's outside her house, greeting her mother at the step. Oh god.

I turn back to my father. He raises a victorious eyebrow at me, and raises his belt.

Ochako POV
As I come home, I swear I can hear someone call my name. But I don't see anyone, so I go inside. As I step in the door, I hear a small sound- *slap*

What was that? It must be my imagination.

But as I take off my jacket, I hear another *slap*, louder this time. I hear a soft voice crying. Is that...Tsu?

I

shake my head, and ignore it. It's not Tsu, and it's probably a TV...right Shaking my head at myself, I head upstairs to study.

...

The words on the page don't make any sense. I drop my pencil on top of my empty study notes and close the thick textbook. Getting up, I walk slowly to the window, and look across to the curtained one. There's a small slit where the froggy fabric overlaps. Flowers tickle my lungs when I think of her. What's she doing now? Is she reading? Studying?

Without stopping to consider, I pull out my phone and put on photo mode. Then, I take a quick picture of the window, making sure to put the curtains in full view. Then, I flop on my light cherry blossom patterned sheets, and examine the picture. I notice something through the little crack of the fabric. A little bit of light, and something I can't see properly. I zoom in closer and squint. It's a sillouette of a man holding something. Ochako, you can't remember? The slapping noise comes back to me. The cries. Tsu.

Flowers flood my throat and I keel over and cough them out, spraying blood in a puddle on the floor. Tsu...

Wait. What if I'm assuming! What if the noises really were just from a TV? That man could be holding anything... A weapon, or a box! After all...it is an attic. I shouldn't stick my nose in, what if I'm wrong?

That night, I look out the window to see Tsu, but she's not there. No lights or anything.

She must've gone out, or went to sleep early.

I barely slept that night.
