Listen to Clarity - Zedd ft. foxes if you can while reading!!
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I exclaim and hug my parents, bursting in excitement. I turn back to Peeta, both with us still with wide smiles. I grab my phone from the coffee table.
I walk back up to him and grab his hand. "Let's go." I suggest and drag him out of the room.
Walking a bit faster down the halfway, I laugh as Peeta catches up to me. We exit the house, nothing making us feel down.
As we approach the bottom of the front stairs, I turn to Peeta and jump into his arms. He wraps his arms around me, stumbling to get his balance before we spin again.
We've been together for 2 years, surrounded by a rivalry.
Until now.
We've been through dark times but we've got through together.
Yet now, there is no rivalry to get us through more.
We can't stop being in hysteria at the outcome of this defiance. We share a short kiss before I bring my hands to his cheeks.
"We did it Peeta." I state.
"We did it. We did it!" We exclaim in unison before another kiss is added to our new happy memories.
He places my feet on the ground and leads us into a small dance, heading towards our garden. I chuckle at our attempt at dancing, with no music accompaniment.
I shriek and call Peeta's name at the sudden movement of him picking me up one more. I laugh as he swings me to sit on his back and I wrap my arms around his neck.
Peeta wraps his arms around my legs and he runs towards the tree line, both of us in a fit of laughter.
Every cry, every laugh, every run, every kiss, every hand grasp, every hug, every moment with him was worth it. It lead us here.
I'm Katniss Everdeen.
19 years old.
Married to Peeta Mellark.
Our families have been rivals since I was born, 19 years ago. The rivalry fate showed that I wasn't to be with him.
Yet we fought for two years and were a couple and still are.
I fell pregnant with him and we lost our daughter. But we stayed strong.
And a mere 5 minutes ago, we fought our hardest and the rivalry was broken.
Peeta keeps running through the green, leaf filled trees, the sun beaming strong onto us. The grey sky earlier transformed into a crystal clear blue.
Peeta slows down on the forest path as we near the clearing. He stops and we stare at the glistening lake. Our laughing stopped but still with smiles. I climb down from his back and join standing beside him.
I sling my bag off and kick my shoes off, chucking them to the side of us. Peeta gets the connection and takes things out of his pockets and takes his shoes off. I look towards him and nod.
We both take off into a run towards the lake. My eyes trained still on the water.
I spring off the ground and dive into the lake, Peeta making contact with the water the same time as me. The mass amount of effervescence around us tickle against my body.
We glide in the water and I open my eyes. I see Peeta do as well and we go up for air.
With a few seconds to breathe we plummet back down. My white and now soaked dress flowing around my legs. We swim in circles around each other, over and over, and I bring myself closer to him.
The feeling of joy still stays in both of us. Our eyes showing happiness all over.
The magical moment comes as we bring our lips together. Everything's goes into slow motion and fireworks set off inside my body. We place both our hands on each others cheeks and hold it for as long as we can.
We keep the kiss going as we float back to the surface. We rise above the water and hug tightly.
We've never felt like this before and this feeling can now stay.
