Don't worry, this story is always on the back of my mind. Longest chapter yet. Again, this is just purely drabble and not that deep. There is going to be a plot there somewhere, but mostly just about Damien and Serenity's life.
Thanks for everyone that is interested in this story and show your continuous support!

King of Vampires. Damien Stryder.
The way he said it like it was the most natural thing in the world to be named a King. To be one. That was where his whole confident demeanor came from. Years of practice. Ruthlessness.
It was ignorant of anyone who didn't know of the reign of the vampires- the monarchy that was instilled since it was rumored of vampires existence. There was something mysterious about the vampire line, the same one for generations, holding magic- and only the royal bloodline. She remembered feeling Damien's magic power matching her own.
The King of Vampires was from a long line of powerful magic, as were other werewolves and witches, but they were long gone or didn't want to be found.
Serenity was not easily impressed. Her time with Xavier made her that way. Worldly things didn't make her happy anymore. Would she ever be normal again? Feel normal again? Besides Lance, there was nothing for her here.
Now she met her mate. He claimed it, to have the mate bond with her and no one would ever lie about such a thing either. Mate bonds were sacred- they were magic within itself. Was her heart so black and buried she didn't care for it?
King.
She broke off his gaze, and didn't say anything, masking her emotion. Silent. Damien grew uncomfortable, clearing his throat. "It's not that big of a deal anyways."
Iggy snickered at this, "Sure it isn't." Iggy peered down at Lance. Pointing at him with an expression she couldn't name. "What's this little one's name?"
"Lance," Serenity found her voice, unable to look at Damien. His eyes never left hers.
King. It shouldn't have made a difference, but she found herself trembling on the inside. If he was some average person, it might have been different. Better for her. Obviously, Damien had a target on his back. That's how she found him in his predicament in the first place. Ambush, he had said. There were people out to kill a King. The thought made her sad, but she pushed it down.
In her time of pregnancy and giving birth to Lance- not even 2 weeks, no one had ever helped her willingly without it being their duty to do so. Bare minimum amount of help was all she had ever gotten.
Holding Lance like it was also one of the most natural things he could do. Lance was tiny compared to the huge figure of Damien. Anyone would notice the presence of Damien Stryder. His whole personality and physique demanded it. Tall and muscular with an edge that King's shouldn't have. Damien seemed like he was a King to be in the front lines of battle, not hiding behind an army. He seemed like the one to do everything himself instead of just saying words and ordering people around. Perhaps that's why Iggy looked at him in respect and admiration.
Damien did not seem to be the type to be like others in his position. This intrigued her curiosity, something Serenity didn't want to happen.
So what if he was a King? That didn't mean she would treat him any different than she was already. Deciding to finally speak, she stepped forward. Extending her arms out. "I need to check on Lance to see if he needs to be changed."
