Five years before the epidemic I was a dumb ass I swear, I don't know how she put up with me but I'm so glad she did. I wouldn't be alive right know if it weren't for my beautiful girlfriend Rayne. Before the epidemic guys were so stupid around girls they liked, especially me. I mean I was so mean to Rayne but she loved me enough to deal with the shit I would pull. Now guys are being smarter, the epidemic killed thousands of women. Most of the men didn't die, so women are now valuable to our state. Our state was the only place in the world facing this epidemic but it's starting to spread now the epidemic is spreading worldwide and we don't know what to do about it.
Now we must marry at the age of 16, if we don't get married by the time we are 17 then we don't get the amount of money the others get to survive... I wake up and think it's all a dream, but then again I always wake up and for a few minutes think it's a dream. But then I hear rustling and turn around on my bed and I see five other beds. I look at the bed across from me and see Rayne, then she rustles again and turns her back towards me. I look towards the beds under my feet the one closet to me has my best friend in it, Dreyden, the one farthest from me is empty. Then I look at the beds across from me, below Raynes feet, and I see two of her best friends. The one closet to her feet is Tyla, the one farthest from her feet is Ryla. Rayne and Ryla have a brother and their triplets and their best friends. But their brother, River, is in the other room.
Then they all wake up with a jolt. "Oh, shit!" Says Ryla. "You saw it to!" Says Dreyden practically shouting it. "Okay so all of us saw this?!" Tyla asks. "No, Teo was awake so only us four saw that shit." Rayne calmly states "okay what did you guys see?" I finally ask "We need to go!" Is my only answer and I don't even know who said it because their running around the room getting their stuff. "But I don't want to go." I say and when everyone stares at me for a moment I remember... We were sleeping and on the run from the rogue militia they have been chasing us since the epidemic started. One day we all left Ryla's boyfriend for 20 minutes, so we could get medicine for his wounds, when we got back we found the rogue militia had taken him and then when we were about to leave, we found a tape and when we watched it we saw how evil they really were. They had tortured him and then slit his throat so Ryla would suffer... "Come on we really have to go!" Rayne was in my face trying to get me to pack while interrupting my thoughts. "I know, I know."
