Chapter 1

"y/n wake up! We have chores! Wake up!" Marco banging on my door "ALRIGHT I'M UP DAMN" I say pissed

I'm y/n l/n. I live with my mama and papa, two older brothers, my Tia, my little Prima and older primo

I'm 14 turing 15 in 5 months. My gift is too make different mushrooms  which I guess is pretty cool.

Mi mama Gabi is 48 and her gift is to make people heal (kinda like senora Julieta) but instead with a touch. So mama and Julieta work together.

Mi papa is 50 and he doesn't have a gift so he's like an outsider but not. Papa and mama been married for years I lost track

Marco mi older brother. Annoying as fuck. He's 23 and hasn't had a girlfriend before which is funny cause he's 23. His gift is to go back to the future which is pretty cool

Than mi other brother Marcus is also 23 (their twins) but he's older by 5 minutes. He can well let's say be protective over me sometimes.His gift to to teleport anywhere which I find cool too. I'm really close with him more than Marco

My Tia Natalie is 49 her wife died two years ago. She's lesbian. Her gift is to make objects out of old things or new. Me and Tia Nat are close. She gives me style tips since we both kinda have the same style expect hers is more of and grunge than a cottage core style.

Mi Prima Alexis is 6 and she doesn't get her gift till 7 pretty odd isn't it? We all didn't get gifts to 7 unlike the madrigals who get their gifts at 5.

Last but not least mi primo Alejandro who's 13 we're just like a year apart but really close. His gift is that when he touches something it changes it's color. Weird but cool.

I get up and get dressed to do my chores which I never really have any cause no one really uses mushrooms or butterflies. I grab a handful of strawberries and ate them on the way out as in messed breakfast. I'm know as the quiet shy girl In the village cause I don't really talk and I stutter and get shy when I meet new people. I walk up to mama and Julieta. They've been best friends since middle school.

"Hola mama, Hola Julieta" I say "hola Mija" Julieta say "hola amor" mama says "we're gonna go to the Madrigals gift ceremony for Antonio a bit early" mama says and I smile nervously "new p-people?" I asked nervously "mhm" mama says

I put a fake smile on and wave bye. I walk back to my house before Camilo stops me (Quick recap: y/n only knows Julieta, Pepa, Bruno and Camilo, and Abuela y/n met the adults by her mama and Camilo while they were little) 

"Hola y/n where you headed?" Camilo asked me "back home" I reply "why you can help me" Camilo says "Milo I'm sorry but I don't feel like it besides I don't have any chores" I say with a fake smile "what's wrong?" Camilo asked walking besides "nothing" I say rubbing my arm "there's something wrong, y/n we've been friends since like forever I know when somethings not up" Camilo says "we've been friends since we were babies Milo" I say poking his shoulder.

Camilo than shapeshifted into me and mocked me which made me laugh than some girl came and sang "My primo camilo won't stop till he makes you smile today!" and left.

"Do you know her? I asked "yea that's my prima mirabel" camilo said "you know you never showed me your room and I know it has to be big like everyone elses" camilo says "i have showed you my room milo" I say

Oh right I forgot me and Camilo been best friends since we were born. He's 15 and can shapeshift which could be annoying sometimes knowing he'll shapeshift into me and it's really annoying.

"oh c'mon I wanna see your room again!" milo begged "is it because it's cooler than yours?" I say "maybe c'mon y/n pleaseeeeeee" milo begged AGAIN "fine so you can shut up" I say and Milo got excited "such a damn baby" I mumbled
