XVII-XVIII

XVII (Tuesday the 27th of August 1957. Cypress Community. New Orleans, United States of America)

My fist go for a Jap. Lynda blocks it with her arms.

I move back for a round kick.

Yet she blocks the kick then counter with a left hook, then right right, I was hit with the right hook.

'I need distance' I thought as I made some space between us. Having enough distance, I went for a sidekick.

She blocks my second kick and moves forward, with a right cross, then goes for a hook.

I slip the cross and duck the hook. Then move forward with an uppercut.

But she leans back to dodge. Missing my uppercut by inches.

I try to salvage my act by throwing out a cross.

Nonetheless, she slips to count it.

Except I wasn't having any of that and moved with a left jab. Hitting her in her jaw.

Being hit made her fall back a few steps, giving me the opportunity to give her a right round kick.

She's staggering some more from that hit. Seizing this opportunity, I move forward and delivered a front kick to her, and she goes down for the count.

Finally able to catch my breath, I set down to start losing the straps on my headgear.

Looking over to where Lynda was lying down, I could see Luthor taking off her gear, and putting a wet towel to her chin.

"Good practice girls you're both doing great Neil what is the score" Louis congratulated us from where he sat on the porch.

"16 to 13 in Louise's favor. With Louise using kickboxing and Lynda boxing. But with their overall wins in practice fighting it 156 wins for Lynda to Louise 148 wins" Neil spoke from his perch on the top of a tree branch.

"It's not all that surprising that Louise loses more than she wins when Lynda only uses instincts and brute force to fight." Halona commenting from the bench she was sitting on in front of our house.

I threw her a nasty look at that comment. Not caring about the look I threw after her, she continued on speaking, "Louise, you need to stop thinking. So much in your fights, you need to use more instinct."

"This advice comes from a person who can barely hold her own against me." I say snidely.

"Why you little?" Halona said as she got up from her seat.

"Enough you two" Louis spoke, stopping Halona in her tracks" Louise, you need to work on not dodging and blocking more. Lynda, you need to dodge more and block less" Louis said

"All right" I said as a response. And Lynda rose her thumb up as an agreement.

"All right, the day practice is over" He says after getting our agreement.

"Well I'm leaving" I told them as I got up from the ground and started walking back to the house. To pack the things I will need today.

"Be back by 3:00 Louise" Louis ordered.

"All right" I told him as I reached the front door.

Lynda POV

As the front door shut, I looked over to where Neil sat.
