Chapter 2

Y/n POV

I laid on the couch with my head on Miguel's lap, he played with my hair as he stared at the tv. We were neighbors but we never really actually hung out with each other until today.

I had went onto my phone and Miguel looked down at me, breaking his attention from the tv he has been staring at for the past thirty minutes. "Soo...any plans for today?" He broke the silence and I laughed a little and put my phone away.

"Obviously not if I'm here with you" I looked down at my hands and he laughed "yeah..why do you hang out with me and my friends?" He questioned and I looked at him, I expected this question to come up at some point.

"Because, you guys aren't scared to be yourself" I sat up and looked him in the eyes "you guys are only assholes to those who deserve it and you're not just assholes for absolutely no reason. They're striving off what they have now but let's face it when they're adults they'll probably be working fast food and barely getting by in life while you guys are successful. Popular kids won't be anything once they're out of high school." I went on and on.

"Well it's cool, I think Kyler is mad though that you hang out with us nerds and not him" he admitted and I flashed him a questioning look "what makes you think he's mad?" I questioned.

"Today after lunch when you went to your class he said If I didn't stop talking to you he'd kick my ass" he admitted and I could tell he was embarrassing "I wouldn't even worry he's nothing but talk and he has to be a dick to make up for the fact he doesn't really have one" I joked and he laughed

"Yeah...when I first moved here him and his friends kicked my ass but I guess I deserved it they were trying to buy beer and I fucked it up" he looked down and I sighed "Miggy it's fine. Who cares? It happened. It's in the past" I tried to cheer him up.

"Well that night my sensei absolutely beat their ass" he informed me excitedly and I smiled "sensei?" I questioned and I watched his eyes light up "oh yeah! I'm a part of cobra Kai karate...I'm sadly the only student though" he admitted "I'd like to give it a try, wouldn't hurt becoming more bad ass" I hyped myself up.

Miguel excitedly got up and grabbed my hand, he led me out the door and to another door not much further and knocked. He let go of my hand and after a minute of waiting a blonde older man answered the door. "Hey Miguel" he greeted then looked at me and back at Miguel "is this a hot babe you scored?" He questioned and Miguel laughed nervously "no sensei this is my friend y/n" he introduced me.

"Oh- well what'd I tell you about calling me sensei all the time?" He scolded and Miguel apologized "I'm Johnny Lawrence." The older man reached his hand out and I shook it. "Nice to meet you Johnny" I smiled.

This man may have been older but I'd let him hit because I ain't a snitch.

"So what do you want Miguel?" Johnny questioned and Miguel looked at me then back at Johnny. "Y/n wants to join cobra Kai!" He announced excitedly but Johnny didn't seem as excited "no girls allowed in cobra Kai" he looked at me "sorry. Girls complain too much and are too much of a hassle for me to deal with".

I rolled my eyes and I stormed off, I walked away from the apartment and headed toward a convenience store I knew was near by. "Sexist piece of shit" I mumbled to myself as I quickened my pace.

I kept walking until I arrived to the small store on the strip. I walked in and looked around, the guy behind the counter stared at me as I headed toward the candy. I heard the bell ring indicating someone had just walked in and I looked to see who it was.

It was Demetri and Eli, they had both spotted me pretty much immediately approached me. I watched as Eli nervously messed with his sleeves and stared at the floor. "Hey y/n" Demetri spoke as he grabbed some candy.

"Hi." I replied as I set what candy I had back on the shelf. My phone vibrated and I looked down at it.

to let you join.

Okay.

I placed my phone back in my pocket and looked at Demetri "so anything new with you?" He questioned and I smiled slightly "I'm doing karate now." I announced proudly and he gave me a questioning look "you? You're doing karate?" He laughed "you're too funny y/n" he headed to the register and I rolled my eyes and headed outside and sat down on the pavement.

Eli had followed me out and sat next to me "I think it's cool you're doing karate" he spoke quietly and I looked at him and put my arm around him "thank you Eli" he smiled at me and looked at the pavement.

The sweet moment was ruined when Demetri came out complaining how everything in the convenience store was overpriced and I just rolled my eyes. "Me and Eli are going to go watch Harry Potter at my house you should join!" He offered and I accepted.

Although Johnny had caved and let me be apart of cobra Kai I don't wanna be around him or Miguel right now.

I laid in between Demetri and Eli and we were all sharing a big blanket. I watched whichever Harry Potter movie we were on whenever I got a text from Miguel.

My mom wants to
meet you and have dinner
with us.

I read the text over and over again before I gave in and once I gave in a said goodbye to demetri and Eli then left.
