It was my fault
For falling in love with a girl
Who I knew I couldn't have
Yet I thought deep down she would love me
She's the light that shown when darkness was in me
She cared for me though I didn't ask her to
The way she smiled made the grey skies go away
Her laugh filled the room and I too would join
The way she carried herself was someone I wanted by my side
But to know that I can never hurts deep inside
I knew falling in love with her would have consequences
To know that I could lose her I didn't think of
Falling in love is such a dumb thing
To fall in love in love with her was sure beautiful
