Big Hero 6: Do you remember?

Part 2: Ghosts

It was Tadashi, well in a digital way. Hiro had built an AI program after a couple of years, trying to use all the video Baymax had of his brother to create something of a mental bandage to all the memories that haunted him deep down still, of that day even when he tried to rush after his big brother and was blown back by the explosion.

" Hey Tadashi, everything normal here?" Hiro asked while putting away a couple of books and sorting through another set to take in the next day he would be in school.

" More or less, Baymax remains in stasis, Aunt Cass is out and about while the guys downstairs kept the bakery up and going. No emails you would care about and the mail didn't fly by today for you. " Shaking his head, Tadashi reaches up and takes off his cap, brushing his hair a bit as if actually easing himself in some way.

" Thanks, Tadashi. " Putting the books back into his backpack, Hiro would slide into his computer chair and spin about the short distance to begin pulling up material he would need as well.

" So Lil Bro, when are you going to tell Aunt Cass? I mean I've been pretty much completed from what I can figure... I think she would be thrilled you made something so cool! " The hologram appeared aware, knowing what it was while still referring so openly to Hiro as his little brother still.

" I told you I can't do that Tadashi. "

" Ya I remember but... Why? "

" Cause she won't understand."

" Understand what? That you can create something so groundbreaking?"

" Just drop it Tadashi. "

" Ya but Hiro- "

" I said no! " Spinning around Hiro got up and walked up to the hologram, the figure stepping back and stopping against the wall as Hiro had created a 3d print of the room for Tadashi to interact with, or appear to. " She will want me to go back to see a therapist! I will have to listen to some idiot who believes I have a problem... try to put me on medication and... and they will take you from me! " A fist flew into Tadashi's chest, hitting the wall and leaving Tadashi watching Hiro as he slouched there knowing this was all a lie but still something that helped him cope.

" I will try not to ask again... Just make sure my memory doesn't get rebooted. " Tadashi jested as Hiro stood and wiped the few tears from his eyes, smiling a bit with that very faint bucktooth smile he had, more attractive than off-putting as he has been told in the past.

" I'm not that dumb Tadashi, and... thank you. " Hiro spoke softly before he heard Mochi murring out as the front door of the bakery would chime and the hologram shut down swiftly, just a simple warm smile on Tadashi's face as he faded away and Hiro could hear Cass call out.

" Hiro! It's movie night! I got the hot wings! " Hiro shook his head and would leave his work for later as he walked out of his room, if one thing was ever a comfort in this world, it was how much Cass cared about him still, even being her sister's child, she was really more like a mother than she gave herself credit for.

The next day would be a bit more exciting for Hiro, he was going to meet up with the gang and Fred was wanting to take everyone to the new theme park which was going to have all new attractions that ran completely on Augmented Reality, less chance of things injuring customers but rides didn't need much more than the bare basics to run while the glasses everyone wore would enhance everything.

Putting on something more comfortable for that San Fransokyo summer weather, a hoodie and jeans, Hiro would give a goodbye hug to Aunt Cass and make his way out to the piers that all had been reinforced these past couple of years for the park they put over the demolished port, moving it to a bit of a safer location, it makes it easier for boats to come in and head back out so the flow wouldn't be as disrupted as it had become from a pandemic a few years back.

" Hiro! " A high pitched sweet voice called out as Honey Lemon jumped and hung around Hiro's neck in a sudden hug, Hiro having to catch her with a soft laugh while Wasabi wandered up beside them to pat Hiro's shoulder, still nearly dislocating it from his strong physique that broke all reason.

" Hey there little man, almost breaking that nickname eh? " True  Hiro had been short early on, but he was taller than even Fred now.

" Only to you, but you can keep the nickname even if I outgrow you. " Hiro was released and  Honey Lemon giggled while he and Wasabi bumped fists with a jestful Tralalalala which they kept after Baymax had done it so many times. Fred would arrive a bit after as the three were catching up, even so much as to Hiro and Wasabi somewhat wrestling and making Honey roll her eyes till she saw Fred.

' Hey, super pals! It's been waaaaay too long! Give me some love! " Fred would give quick hugs to everyone, the little Tralalala fistbumps with Hiro and Wasabi, but would pause as he looked about. " Where is Gogo? She said she was going to be here first thing... " Fred appearing worried, even Hiro couldn't avoid having that same feeling that once more she was skipping out on their monthly traditions.

" Oh come on guys, you know how busy she gets, but she has never left us in the dark... if she said she is going to make it then she will be here this time! " Honey wasn't wrong, normally when we assumed everyone would just keep their plans it left one or two of us being caught up in business or family issues that would cause those to miss out, but Hiro had made every meeting because of his feeling of loss without them around as much anymore.

" Well hey, we don't need to go in right away. I mean we have all day and even if we do go in, she would probably find us just from how loud we are. " Hiro smiled so warmly as Fred would do his usual finger gun pose in agreement, Honey giggling some as Wasabi now rolled his eyes at us trying to act like the mature one. For the next hour or so they all wandered the pier, grabbing snacks and drinks, warm pizza is always good on chill shoreline days.Yet as the hour snuck up to an extra half an hour, they would just simply give into the facts as their phone had no sign of Gogo. " Let's head in guys, I hear they put in that new Star Journey ride in! " Hiro hopped up in a skip before rushing ahead to get everyone to follow, yet unknown to him they each looked to each other in a slight worry before joining him a few moments later.
