Big Hero 6: Do you remember?

Part 1: Do you...

" Do you remember Hiro, that day we met? "

It has been six years since that day I lost my brother, Tadashi was more than a simple title by blood to me, he was all the family I ever needed... well aside from Aunt Cass of course, and Mochi a.k.a. Furry Baby. Yet when I lost him I gained friends who never gave up on me, and I have done all I can to make sure they never felt like anyone would give up on them. Wasabi and Honey Lemon graduated with honors, while Gogo stapled her name not only in the automotive world but in transportation as a whole, bringing new clean ways to travel that needed their own rules to ensure safety in an age without full engines.

I was still at SFIT ( San Frantokyo's Institute of Technology ) And part-time teaching there as well besides my former, and revived hero Robert Callaghan. After a couple of years of therapy for him and his daughter, much came to light about Krei and the practices that landed him in hot water, paying many owed damages and even jail time that would leave him still rich, but with a black mark that forced him to pay better attention to his dealings in the future. He still tried a few sketchy projects but those are old news now.

" Hiro, when you finish up those calculations would you head home son? I know you get lost here but even I know when I am beat... for now. " Callaghan had that gentle smile once more, with life back in order he had a beautiful daughter who was regaining her life swiftly, to her it was sleep... just a peaceful dream that she can't recall. Having become a test pilot for Gogo's new models, she was thrilled to try all these new types of travel.

" Will do Mr. Callaghan, just wanted to try this one more time. " I typed in my newest estimates and began the program again, watching the new nanobots run about in fluid motion to a preprogrammed command that would keep them safe even if they glitched.

" Hiro, you know you can call me Robert... I think respect has been well earned long before now. " His hand lands on my shoulder as I chuckle and shrug, realizing I was almost as tall as him now, not too close but still I wasn't tilting my head to see him. It left me at a pause as I muttered faintly back.

" Y-ya... Robert... right... sorry. " I knew he would catch it, he always did and his pulled hand would show it as I sighed and slumped my arms. " I'm fine Robert, really... it was just... I am taller than he was... or at least taller than he reached. " I gripped the counter and lowered my head a bit, the pain just sat there but it was still something that made me thankful for what that pain meant, that Tadashi was ever with me.

" I can't even say he would be proud Hiro, because I don't have that right... "

" Callaghan.. "

" No... Hiro listen. I have seen a kid who was so believed in by a kid who I taught that he staked his reputation here solely on just having me meet you. To this day, he not only proved he knew how brilliant you were, but how much of a true hero you would become to this world. You may have hung up the cape but I don't doubt you will ever prove him wrong on his hunch about you." Callaghan would stay a few feet away, waving his one hand so professionally as he use to when I first met him. I couldn't help but smile and cough slightly as I felt that choke hitting me from his words before I turned to reach out and take the hand he was offering before I could even decide what would be appropriate.

" Thank you so much Mr. Callaghan, and I know it's Robert but I just want to show you that you earned my respect. The past may hurt but I understand what happened... you would have truly been a villain if you didn't feel anything about what happened. " Some said it was too easy to let Callaghan out for what happened, in the end, he never took another life, and the damages were intense in the end, but most of it localized to Krei's facility... and it helped that much of the repairs and alike were handled by all the technology that now runs the automotive industry made from this school.

We parted ways as Abby's birthday was soon and Callaghan was just enjoying her week off while she was back home, her travels left her busy with Gogo and a new boyfriend always made Callaghan cringe. Though from what she told me he was a good guy, she wouldn't tell me who he was yet because she wasn't sure how serious it was. Until Callaghan was released Abby has spent a lot of time with me and Aunt Cass, having little care to be alone while some chose to harass her and send threats for the terrors her father caused until they were shut up by free repairs and alike from the university and payoffs from Krei.

" Aunt Cass? Cass? " Once again she was out having fun, hopefully dating if anything. I tossed my lab coat onto the hanger by the side doorway, having locked up the coffee shop when I got in I figured I could just head up to our... my room and get some rest. Though when I kicked my shoes to the corner by my doorway I was soon halted by a sudden voice that called out to me from the past.

" Hey there little bro. How did your day go at "nerd school"? "
