They don't exactly struggle with coming to terms with today's events.
Venice is somewhat of a wreck as a patrol-blinking boat travels across the water right outside the rundown hotel housing Midtown Tech's small group of students. Them, of course—by now, after everything—after half the world disappearing ... also are not exactly phased by coming close to death. They are enthralled by it.
Watching the several news coverages in a language that is foreign to them, the students hang out in the lounge area of the rustic hotel, finding whatever research they can about the large Hydro-Man that suddenly burst out of the ground—as well as the helmeted individual who defeated it. Noticeably, nobody else.
