Camilo Madrigal. A caring guy who always makes sure you've atleast laughed or smiled once each day. He usually spends his time in the main place of town, waiting to see if anyone would need his help. If he wasn't busy helping around he'd tell storys to all the young children who stayed in town while their parents were hard at work. Everyone loved him, he was the sun that everyone needed in their life. Thankfully, he was yours.

You two had been friends for the past 13 years. You met him when your mom dropped you off at the Madrigals home so Pepa could babysit you while she worked. Of course, you two instantly became the best of friends. Although having slightly diffrent personalitys, you two connected immediately.

Y/N L/N. Quiet and more laidback. You spent your days in the comfort of your room, reading away on whatever book you had picked up or drawing in the sketchbook that your dad gifted you. Of course leaving your room to visit your bestfriend whenever he threw rocks at your window to signal that he wanted to see you or whenever your parents forced you out the house.

As you closed the book you had been binge-reading for the past hour, you groaned and got up. Your parents called you downstairs, probably to ask you to leave the house for once. As you hopped off your bed and made your way downstairs to greet your parents.

"Yes?" You asked quietly as their attention was now on you. You held onto the pillar for support as you tilted your head.

"Y/N, you've been in your room all day." Your dad began before your mom chimed in from
behind him.

"Please leave the house and see the sun atleast once. You'll become pale if all you do is stay in bed and read." She stated while turning around and into the kitchen, knowing you'd leave the house.

"Alright, i'll go get some sunlight." You said as you turned around and walked out your house. The sun shined brightly, too bright. You rose your hand over your head and covered yourself from the brightness before beginning to walk towards town, waving to your neighbors and other towns people you knew.

You looked around for a specifc curley haired Madrigal as you had gotten closer to the fountain in which he usually stayed at. Their weren't many kids around so you assumed that everyone was eating lunch or something. You shrugged as you sat down on the fountain's ledge and stared at the clear water. On the tiling was small little butterflies like the ones on the infamous candle. You smiled as you examined all the other small details before hearing giggling near you. Your head snapped up and looked around, no one was near? Everyone was either at work or buying things in the little market nearby.

"Boo!" Voices exclaimed, you jumped from the sudden commotion as you turned your head to see Camilo and all the other towns kids laughing at your reaction. You dead panned as you got up and crossed your arms.

"Real funny Camilo." You uttered as he stopped laughing and rolled his eyes playfully, he walked over and wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

"Laugh a litte Y/N. I swear I never see you laugh anymore these days, you've changed man! You've changed." He replyed with a playful smile on his face, you shove him softly.

"I do laugh, just not at you. Your jokes aren't funny." You smirked as he gasped dramatically and put his hand over his heart while backing up.

"Excuse you! I'm the funniest man on earth. You're the unfunny one here." He shook his head dramatically. "You really have changed.." He added jokingly before looking up at you and laughing. You joined in on the laughter too before it died down.

This was how it always was. Pretending to be mean and roast eachother until laughing your asses off at something stupid.

"Wanna go buy some stuff?" Camilo asked as he put his hand on your back and leaded you towards the market.

"I'm poor." You shrugged in response, you had forgotten your wallet at home.

"Let me be a gentleman then and pay for your purchases m'lady." He grinned. You cringed silently before thinking for a while and agreeing.

Rip Camilos wallet.

The two of you walked over to the market and approached random carts that were filled with things that caught your eye. A couple of books, necklaces and all sorts of jewlery. Camilo was lucky this time. The vendors gave him discounts for being a Madrigal which you found stupid.

After the small shopping spree, you both sat down on the fountains ledge and examined everything you bought. Well, he bought. You handed him a couple pieces of jewlery you thought he'd like and opened up the books, flipping through the rough pages and seeing how long they'd take you to read.

"Antonio's birthday is next month." Camilo brought up. You looked up from your book and nodded.

"That's right. Which also means he'll be getting his gift. I wonder what he'll get. Maybe something witb animals? He's really into them nowadays." You stated before looked back down at your books. Camilo nodded silently as he picked up the jewelry you pushed over to him.

"Maybe. Mami's kind of worried. And Abuela. After Mirabels ceremony everyones been worried that Antonio won't get a gift either." Camilo mumbled. You sighed and looked up, grabbing his hand and giving him a comforting smile.

"I'm sure everything will be just fine." You reassured him as he nodded in agreement and got up. He extended his hand towards you.

"Let's go before the sun sets, I don't want your parents to yell at me for keeping you out so late." He began, you grabbed his hand and gathered all the stuff you had gotten and walked next to him. "Have they really not figured out we talk like everynight?"

"Nope." You giggled while swinging his hand slightly. You two walked towards your house. The lights from your parents room and the living room shined brightly. You bid your goodbyes to Camilo as you walked inside and yelled out that you were home.

After setting your new books and jewlery on the small desk table next to your bed, you laid down on your comfortable bed and rolled over to grab the book you were reading earlier. You picked out the flower which was your bookmark and continued to read.

Today was nice.
