"Lord Bayon. You certainly are malicious... to think that you have caught two escapees from Grace Field," a male demon grinned.
At his words, the others froze.
It was another morning at Goldy Pond, however, it was at a different location, with different people. Or should I say - demons.
The ring of demons were all nobles, and they had all sat themselves at the dinner table. What served on their plates were of course, their favourite course of meal - human flesh.
Nous, a black demon with a tall, slender humanoid body, was the one who had spoken. His words left the other demons in shock, as well as Lord Bayon himself, who turned to stare -
"Oh?" he said, a tone of amusement in his voice. "Did you hear me talking to my subordinates? I thought that if I had kept it under wraps, it would be more exciting when you found them."
"So it's true, then?" said Nouma, the sister of Noum.
Lord Bayon nodded. "Yes, it is. Though apparently there were two more with them, but my foolish subordinates lost them. Be assured that we will capture them soon enough."
As soon as those words left his mouth, an impatient Nouma broke out. "I want to know the details! What are their ranks?"
"We have caught two females. They are both premium grades. The other one we didn't manage to capture is probably also premium grade. The last one apparently seems to be an adult."
Premium grades!! Nouma felt her mouth watering. And an adult?! Before another thought, she snapped her fingers, pointing to her plate of meat. "Take my plate away, I'm done eating."
Music blared; they got up.
'I haven't had an adult in forever.'
'Premium grades from Grace Field!! These are stuff even nobles like us can't eat!! I definitely can't miss out on this!"
'It's that brat! One of them has to be her!! There's no doubt about it, and when I find her, I'm going to rip her to shreds!!'
'... it's her.'
We're too worked up to stay put. On this beautiful morning, we hunt.
The gang of demons made their way into the town, where children would usually be bustling about, not having a worry in the world.
But that wasn't the case this time.
They stopped in their tracks, glancing around and taking a sniff of the air. This is odd, Nouma thought.
The town was barren. With plates and bowls tossed askew all about the place as the children fled; terrified as they ran for their lives - right before the demons came marching in.
"They're all gone," said Noum in astonishment.
Instead of taking the calm and logical approach like her brother was, Nouma was screaming out impatiently.
"Where are the premium grades? Where are they?!"
"I didn't sense them in the forest on the way here," Noum muttered. A smirk stretched on his face. "So I see. A game of hide-and-seek, huh? It's been a while; this should be fun."
"Ready or not, here I come!"
Turning sharply on his heels, he barged into the first door on his left, slamming the door into the wall of the cottage - causing cracks - as he stomped inside roughly, growling threateningly.
