Kawaki's POV

Kiwi suddenly jumps off of the dork's arms and runs to me. He is back in my arms again. He buries his head onto my chest and rubs gently on it.

"So, you came. Good for you," the dork's fatso friend tells me.

"Tch," I don't intend to explain myself to her or the events that happened before this scene.

She invited me to come with them but I am not interested. I'm not interested in coming here in the first place, I just can't say no to the old woman.

I refused her invitation for the nth time. And this fatso girl is mad at me again. She is easy to get mad at me compared to her best friend, no, they are the same.

"Can't you be nicer just for today?" she puts her hands on her waist like she is ready to lecture me things again. How annoying.

Without a word, she grabs my hand and the dork's hand and drags us to nowhere. I don't know where she is taking us.

I wanted to complain but she is unstoppable and very stubborn, to begin with. She brings us to a barbecue stall. The smell feels good. I think it makes me hungry. I can't ignore how Kiwi leans to the grilled meat. His gesture is so cute I can tell.

"Here," the fatso girl offers me a stick of the meat.

"I'm not hungry," I refuse. I don't want to accept it I don't think it's a cool move though.

The fatso girl says that the grilled meat here is the best-grilled meat in the world. Isn't she being exaggerated here, is she?

The dork tried to correct her about her statement but she seems not to care. She orders ten sticks. I thought it was for both of them but the ten sticks are just for herself.

In the end, I accepted the grilled meat. She seems not to stop nagging at me about it. I taste the meat and it's not that bad at all.

"It's tasty, right?" she is proud of it.

"Not going to lie but it tastes good," I acknowledge. I think it's true that it's one of the best.

"Wait, I think I forgot to buy something. You guys stay here, okay? Or shall I meet you later? I think it will take long," the fatso girl says and leaves us alone together.

I think she is the weirdest girl I've known or probably girls are normally weird that I am unaware of.

The dork is watching her friend's back running away.

"Are you planning on staying here forever?" I tell her because I am going to leave already.

"Huh? Of course not!" she replies as I already make steps away from her. I turn halfway to tell her something.

"You're not coming with me? Okay then," I completely leave her alone.

"Wait up," she calls out to me I guess so, I turn my back at her.

"Um, I don't want to be left behind," she adds and slowly walks in my direction.

"If it's okay with you," she adds once she gets closer to me.

"I don't mind," I don't mind her coming with me.

"Just until Chocho returns," she keeps talking and I keep my pace.

Silence takes over us. I think nobody wants to talk. It's fine with me.

"Are you going to watch the fireworks?" she cups her mouth. I think she is not supposed to be asking me but her anxiety is troubling her.
