Kawaki's POV
"Are you planning on going to the university I graduated from?" dad asks me while I am feeding Kiwi.
"Kind of," my brief reply.
"That's great. The University is offering excellent courses. What do you want to take up there anyway?" he keeps asking me about it.
"I decided to study medicine," I say and sit in front of him. He was having his breakfast. I can see how his face looks shocked by my statement.
"So, you're really into it, huh?" he chuckles.
"Did you know about it?" I ask. I never knew he had an idea about me taking up medicine.
"Your mom once told me about your dream. She said you want to be a doctor and treat her disease," he stops eating this time and smiles bitterly at me.
"I see," I mutter and I start to eat up.
"I'm happy that you have set up your goals and chasing after them now. I know your mom is happy watching you from heaven," he adds and I did not answer.
"If you need anything, don't hesitate to approach me. I'm here to support you and your dream," he smiles gently at me. I think this is the first time he did such a gesture toward me.
"Yeah," I reply and we resumed eating our breakfast.
"By the way, I have tickets for my upcoming movie this Saturday. Want to come? But I won't be there on the day of its release. Well, you can come on your own. You are going to support dad, right?" he laughs after he said those cringe words.
"You know I hate coming to theaters," I refuse and he pouts. Want me to feel guilty, eh?
"Just this once then," he is insistent.
"Tch. I will try to come," I give up. I know he won't stop until I assure him. He puts his hands together and giggles like a child. He takes out the ticket from his wallet and hands it over to me.
"Wait, I still have one. Do you have anyone to accompany you?" he adds.
"Nope. I'm okay being alone," I reply and sip from my tea.
"I've heard that Sarada was a fan of my movies why don't you ask her out?" he sips on his coffee this time. What the heck was that?
"What are you talking about? We're not friends or anything," I tell him and stand up from my seat. I'm done with breakfast already. I hear him chuckle again.
"Hm, I don't think so. You're not friends but she has a special place in your heart," he sounds like teasing me.
"What the hell is that? She is nothing but a dork to me," I retaliate.
"Okay, calm down. Why so defensive? I was just joking," he takes his words back.
"That jokes not funny," I tell him while putting the plate on the sink.
"You feel agitated once I mentioned her name. Now that speaks for something else," he chuckles again. His chuckles sound annoying to me now.
"If you're done with breakfast, you can leave for work now," I say. I think I sound annoyed. Well, I am.
"Hey, it seems like you are pushing me out of the house already," he sounds offended but I know he is just teasing me.
"You are annoying," I say honestly. He just laugh at my statement.
"Well, you guys make a great couple," he says laughing then puts his plate on the sink where I am currently washing the plates.
"Stop it already," I scold him and he laughs heavily instead.
