"She what?" I asked again, maybe I just heard him wrong. Mommy couldn't do that. She loves me.

"It was an accident. She didn't mean it," he said. "She made you choose whether it's him or us, but you ended up choosing him. Mom got angry. I was there when that happened. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, I just happened to overhear it... She didn't mean to push you, she just got carried away."

"Carried away?" I looked at him with unbelievable eyes. "I was beyond grateful that I survived the tragedy that happened 8 years ago, and that your parents adopted me. But this is what I'll get?" I paused to catch my breath. Everything is a disaster. My life was a mess. This does mean I'm not fit to live in this world? "She did that because she wanted me to forget about my husband, is that it?"

He nodded his head.

The door suddenly swung open and our parents entered the room. I glared at my so used to be mother, but not anymore.

"Mom, now is not the right time," Jaylen blocked her view from me.

"Why? I want to know if my daughter is fine," she even tried to push Jaylen away.

"Get out," I said in authority.

"But, darling..." I didn't let her finish.

"I said get out!" I shouted. Everyone was stunned to move. They looked appalled after hearing me shout like that.

"Let's leave her alone for now," Jaylen said. They all went out and I was finally alone in the room.

My hand crawled up to my face and tears just started to fall down. My thoughts were all over the room. I was angry at Mom. Maybe, I just really loved that man the reason I started to rebel against her. I thought she was different, but she brainwashed me. How could a mother do that to her daughter? What heart does she even have?

I started to sob and no one was there to comfort me, not until the door opened. I immediately wiped the tears from my face. I looked at the man who entered, his broad shoulders were so defined and his pale white skin made him more attractive than ever. He was wearing a simple white button-down shirt and black slacks. He went near me with weary eyes.

Thoughts started to rummage through my mind. Is this the man that I'm married to? How can I even score a handsome man like him?

"Are you alright?" He worriedly asked.

"Who are you?" I asked as I didn't answer his question. I know him, I just wanted to clear things up. "Are you really my husband?"

Slowly, he nodded his head. "I am and you're my wife. We married 3 years ago even if your parents were against us."

"I'm sorry for forgetting you," I lowered my head. Ashamed of myself. "If my parents weren't against us and I didn't lose my memories, maybe we'd have a better marriage."
