Monday, the sky was dreary and insipid, filled with rolling grey clouds. Today I officially turned 5 months since I am in the Lucia State Hospital.
As I was on my way to the dayroom I felt a warm hand taking my wrists and pulling me into a room. I look with wide eyes trying to figure out who the person is. It was kinda hard because the room was pretty dark. After a few seconds I realize it's Mildred.
"Mildred, what are you doing? You scared m-" I tried to say but before I could finish my sentance, I felt Mildred's lips against mine. I kissed back and I could feel her smiling.
"Y/n" Mildred whispered after we pulled appart. She seemed really happy.
"Yes?"
"I have a great new" she says excited. "What is it?" I ask. I couldn't see her but I knew she was smiling. "I am head nurse." I gasp. I was so surprised. "Wow. That's- That's amazing, Mildred." I say and go hug her. "And that's not the only new. There's going to be a dance tomorow. Every nurse and patient from this hospital are going to come." she said. "A dance? Sounds nice." "Yes.. And I was wondering if you would like to be my partner.." As I hear her words I couldn't help but smile. "I would love to." I say and lean in for a kiss.

It was tuesday and of course, today was the dance. I wasn't prepared. I had no clothes.. I couldn't go dressed with the clothes I had. I decided it would be a good ideea to ask Dolly for help.
"Um.. Hello, Dolly!" I say. "Hi, y/n! What's up?" the blonde nurse asks. "I was wondering if I could borrow a dress from you for the dance.. I don't really have any.." Dolly looks at me and starts smiling. "Of course. Only if you let me help you with your hair and makeup." she answers. I just smile and nod. "Thank you, Dolly. I am really grateful."
As I was waiting in my room I heard a knock of the door. I go to open it and notice Dolly at the door with two dresses, some makeup and some hair products. I let her in and say "Thank you. Again." "Oh, you don't have to thank me. I'm happy to help." answers. I was a little shocked. I've never thought Dolly would be so nice but I guess I was wrong.
"Ok, so you must try on the dresses and I'm going to tell you wich one fits better." I nod and go to the bathroom. The dress I tried on was a light blue color. It was long and it had some flowers on it. After I tried it on I went into my room to hear Dolly's opinion. "Hmm it looks okay.. But I think the other one would look even more great on you." she says. I say 'okay' and go try the other dress. She was right.. It looked great. Its color was light purple. It looked absolutely charming. It was a simple dress but it looked beautiful

As I go back to my room to hear Dolly's opinion I hear her gasping. "Y/n! You look great!" I smile and nod "Thank you, Dolly!"
"Okay.. Now let's do your hair." Says Dolly. I nod and sit on the chair from the front of my mirror. I watch Dolly doing different things to my hair, using products and clips. I wasn't very skilled with all this stuff because my mother never bought me some. I did saw her using some for herself but I didn't pay much attention because I tought I'll never own any of those.
After like a hour, Dolly finally finished my hair. She did a half up, hald down hairstyle. It looked divine. After she also finished my make-up I took a look in the mirror. I looked really good. I looked like a fairy. Everything was perfect.
"Wow" I say as I look in the mirror. "So... What do you think?" Asks Dolly with a proud smile. "I- I look amazing. There's no way I could thank you enough for this. I am so grateful. Thank you, Dolly!" "It's okay, y/n. You look great!"

The dance already started. As I went to the room where the dance was keeping, I see different patients dancing with eachother or with the nurses. Everyone looks so happy. I look for Mildred but I can't see her anywhere. As I look better I notice her at the punch table. She looked so charming. She had a turquoise dress on and her hair was up and beautifully arranged. She looked lost but as she makes eye contact with me I see a big smile on her face. I go to her.
"Hi.." I say shyly. "Y/n. You look absolutely divine." she says. I blush at the compliment. "T-thank you. You look really beautiful too, Mildred." I answer. We sit in a comfortable silence, with our hands mated as we watch the other people dancing and having fun. "I wish I could dance with you.." I finally break the silence. Mildred looks with a sad look on her face. "I know... Maybe some day.." I just look sad at the floor. "What's wrong?" Mildred asks. "It's nothing.. It's just that.. I'm not sure I'll ever get out of here" I say as my voice breaks and a few tears falling from my eyes. Mildred squeezes my hand and waits a moment to think "Hey, look at me. You are going to get out of this place. Tonight. I promise." she says. I look at her with teary eyes. "H-how?" I ask her. "Do you trust me?" she asks. I nod. "I have a plan." ...
A few minutes passed by. The music changed into a happy one. I notice Doctor Hanover and nurse Bucket starting to dance. They were jumping and doing different dance moves. I smiled as I watched them. Doctor Hanover started doing some hilarious dance moves. I couldn't help myself from laughing. It was really funny. Everyone was clapping and encouraging him. I take a look at Mildred and she was laughing too.
Suddently the music stops and everyone looks now to Edmund Tolleson, the murderer of the four priests. After him, Dolly enters and starts dancing with him.
After a few minutes, I see Edmund going to a guy, who was probably a guard, and slice his throat. I just freeze as I watch the actions with wide eyes. Dolly takes the gun from the guard and points it to everyone from the room. I could hear people scream as the sound of gun rings trough the whole room. I feel how my knees start to get weak. I fell on the floor as I felt a big sting into my stomach. Everything was starting to get dark. I heard Mildred's screams. She was there. She picked me up with someone's help and took me into a car.
"Y/n, you're alright now. I'm here. Look, you're free. You're out of that hell!" I hear Mildred whisper to me. She looked terrified. Tears were streaming down her face. "Please stay awake, Y/n! Stay with me. I'm here" she says. I want to talk to her but I just can't. It's like someone just cut my tongue. I felt her hands softly brushing my face. And then everything went black..
