Chapter Four

Jonathan woke up and stretched, for once in his short stay here, he felt well rested, his muscles weren't as sore as he remembered them being, but, at the same time, he didn't remember much. Maybe they had never been sore to begin with and it was all a dream he had had. But do to the gentle ache in his hips, he was confident that it was real. Jonathan rolled over to see the covers were all tousled beside him, which was strange as he hadn't untucked them his entire stay. He groaned, stretching again, before sitting up and swinging his legs over the side of the bed. He already felt himself growing more awake and alert. He felt like he was waking up from some fog coated dream.

The drapes were shut, so no light got into his room, but from the way that the creases seemed to glow, he was positive that it was the morning. Or maybe it was late afternoon, it took a lot of sleep for him to feel this rejuvenated. Slipping his feet into a pair of slippers which he had found tucked under the bed, he padded his way to the door, creaking it open quietly.

"Hello?" He called out, knowing he wouldn't get an answer. Asking if anybody was there had become a sort of habit for him as of late. The hallways were cold in the center, but pleasantly warm towards the walls. He had managed to map out where the stairs were relatively quickly considering only the few days he's been here.

His soft steps echoed through the massive chamber
