It was a nice sunny day, summertime has just begun. Polly Pollinor parked her car near the entrance of her new summer job at Camp Crystal Lake. Polly was hired as a lunch server since the camp cook didn't really have that much help with the kitchen.

Polly looked at the front mirror to see that her daughter was happily sitting in her seat, Polly smiled as she focused on the road again.

After an hour of driving Polly parked behind a line of other parked cars.
Polly and Amber got out of the car to get their stuff from the back of the car, as they were walking towards the camp entrance a camp consular approached them with a smile.

"Well hi here welcome to Camp Crystal Lake, the name's Cindy I'm one of the consulars here."

"Hello Cindy, I'm Polly, Polly Pollinor and this is my daughter Amber."

"Hello miss Cindy!", Amber held out her hand for Cindy to shake.

"Pleasure to meet you both." Cindy bent down a bit to shake Amber's hand. As Cindy stood back up to show  where the sleeping cabins were.

"The sleeping cabins are over there on your left near the lake, you can go there to pick a bed to put your stuff down."

"Ok I'll go do that!", Amber says as she walks towards the sleeping cabins. Amber opened the door to see beds aligned against the left and right wall as some toys were laying on the floor. Amber chose one of the left side beds.

As Amber put her stuff away she came outside to play with the other kids but she stopped when she saw a boy being made fun of by the other kids.

Amber went to get a consular, she saw some of them sucking face with each other. Amber walked up to one of the consulars and told them about the situation. The couple looked down at her with irritated looks on their faces.

"Bug of kid we're busy, go asks someone else."

Amber felt a bit upset that the consulars wouldn't help. Amber went back to see the boy run into the woods.

"HEY WAIT YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO GO TO THE WOODS BY YOURSELF!!", Amber followed as she ran after him.

Amber was following the boy through the woods, she saw that he was starting to get exhausted as much as she was. They both stopped by a tree as they were catching their breath.

The boy peaks from behind the tree to see if Amber was there, he hid quickly as soon as he saw her come closer as Amber sat on the other side of tree.

"Why did you run into the woods? You could get lost out here.", Amber asked the boy in concern, it was silent for a bit until he answered her.

". . .I-it's safe. . .for me. . ."

"It's safe for you. . .safe from the other kids?"

". . .mhm. . .the other kids hate me. . ."

"Yeah I saw that...they were being bullies." 'But we're they being mean to him?'

Silence was in the air again, Amber want to get a consular but they didn't want to help, she didn't want to get her mom because she was interviewing for her summer job, and she doesn't know where she is. Amber thought about it for a little minutes and finally decided to be a big girl and stay with boy until her mother found her.

"Well you can't be here by yourself so I'll stay with you until you want to go back to camp."

"..."

". . ."

". . ."

Silence yet again, Amber sighed as she wondered what she could do to help the boy feel better. Amber looked around to see flowers blooming in the grass as their colors shined in the sunlight, she gasped and got up as she thought of an idea.

'I'll make him a flower crown that always made mommy happy when gets upset from a hard day!
I should get to know him that should give me enough time to finish the flower crown, plus he probably needs a friend right now'

"So what's your name?", Amber asked as she was collecting flowers.

". . .um. . .m-my name is J-Jason"

"Cool name Jason! My name is Amber."

"...your name is pretty..."

"Thanks!", Amber said sitting back down as she started making the flower crown.

"So Jason how old are you?"

"Eleven"

"I'm eight, you're three years older than me!"

Jason started to smile a little as the conversation with Amber was making him feel better. Jason wanted to continue the conversation with her.

"What activity do you like to do?"

"Well I love to explore the outdoors so I can make some flower crowns for my mom!"

Jason smiled more from her answer.

"That's nice to do for your mama."

"Yup I always made a flower crown for her to make her day when she comes home from a hard day of work!", Amber said as she finished the flower crown.

Jason thought for a bit thinking about making a flower crown for his mama to make her happy.

'". . .I wish I could make one for my mama."

"I could teach you how!", Amber said as she examined the flower crown.

"REALLY YOU WOULD!!!", Jason said with excitement in his tone.

Amber jumped a bit from the yelling, she giggled a bit at his excitement.

"Sure, I would be happy to!"

Jason was so excited about making flower crowns with Amber but as he thought about it he realized that she would freak out because of his face.

"WAIT WE CAN'T!", Jason yelled in a panic as he quickly got up.

Amber was about to get up to give Jason the flower crown but stopped due to his outburst.

Amber was startled and confused by Jason's yelling.

"Why not??", Amber said as she walked around to the other side of tree to confront Jason but he did the same so she couldn't see him.

"Y...You'll hate me just like the others...", Jason started to cry as he slide down against tree onto the ground.

"I'M JUST AN UGLY MONSTER THAT EVERYONE HATES BECAUSE THEIR SCARED OF MY TERRIBLE FACE!", Jason began to sob hard as curled into a ball, he held his legs close to hide his face.

Amber walked slowly close to Jason until she was in front of him. Amber looked down at the flower crown not knowing what to say, she started to think about what her mom did when she got like this from a bad day at school.

Jason was distracted by his own thoughts to realize that Amber was in front of him, his thoughts came to complete stop as he felt the warmth of someone hugging him.

"It's ok Jason...I know what it's like to be made fun, people are just meanies...", Amber said as she kept hugging Jason for comfort.

As Amber stopped hugging Jason she picked up the flower crown and put it on his head. Amber lifted Jason's face up so she could wipe his tears with her shirt sleeves as Jason sniffles.

Amber looked at every detail of Jason's face from what she saw Jason definitely has a different formed face, Amber gave Jason a kind smile as she looked at his blue eyes.

"I don't see an ugly monster...what I actually see is kind boy who has the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen..."

"JASON!, AMBER!...WHER ARE YOU TWO!"

"JASON, SWEETIE COME TO MOMMY DEAR!"

"I SEE THEM OVER THERE!"

The children stood up and looked from behind the tree to see their mother's and Cindy running towards them with panicked looks written on their faces.

Amber and Jason were being scolded as they returned back to camp, but Jason wasn't listening as he was rethinking the kind words that Amber had said to him back in the woods.
