This is gonna be great
She tossed her hoodie back, flipping her brown ponytail over her shoulder and looked around the street. Seeing no one, she started cracking her knuckles. Nobody could stand her when she did that so she learnt to do it only when she was on her own or with her best friend.
Tamareh had difficulties making friends, most probably because of her uncontrollable sarcasm and bluntness, but she had one, and only one childhood best friend, Ashley Maximus Smith, who for some reason had the tolerance level of infinity. Ashley, who much preferred to be known as Asher was supposedly waiting at the start of the next street with the materials. Tamareh started into a sprint, realizing that she was late.
Before she saw him, she heard him yell. " Tam, there you are! I've been waiting for 10 whole minutes for you!" Asher ranted, waving his arms from side to side like a seaweed, but still holding his silly grin. Tamareh had to purse her lips and hold her breath to stop herself from laughing at how ridiculous Asher looked. As she reached him, she sighed out a 'sorry, got held up'.
They were going to do what they always did - sabotage Tamareh's arch-enemy, Lucas Thomas Edison, also known as Jerk-face. Earlier on in the school day, she had overheard from a group of giggling girls that Lucas would be going to 'The Peak Cafe' to meet his friend Jasper Leong. Asher and Tamareh had quickly decided to intercept his journey there from school by carrying out their operation.
Since Tamareh was young, Lucas had always been making fun of her height, and after she hit puberty, and grew, (not just in height) he insulted basically everything else about her. This morning, was one of the more unfortunate ones, in which her body decided to become gassy during that ONE lesson that she had in common with Lucas.
It did not end well.
Tamareh shook her head in frustration, remembering their brawl. She positioned herself, adrenaline coursing through her veins. 'Asher, let's do this thing. Go hide!' Her voice was laced with determination, and a tinge of bossiness, but Ashley was definitely used to this.
It came easy. It always came easy.
The familiar tingly sensation started at her feet and rapidly rose up to her head. Her feet disappeared, followed by her legs, and then the rest of her body. She looked towards Asher, who was hiding behind a dumpster. Asher was staring at where Tamareh had been, his mouth open in awe, even though he had seen her transition countless times before. He held a thumbs-up, his usual way of telling her that she was now unseen.
Living in 'The Peak', everyone around had a super power. Tamareh's super power was invisibility, one of the rarest superpowers in the region. This was just one of the many things that made her arrogant. Asher, on the other hand was more down to earth, with his power of being able to compel people to do whatever he wanted.
Lucas' jet-black hair suddenly appeared from the street corner, a cheery smile plastered on his face. Oh you wait till I wipe that smile off, Jerk-face. Tamareh held up the bucket of ice water, which instantly turned invisible to her touch. She raised it above her head and patiently waited for Lucas to walk closer.
Lucas was whistling somethign that roughly sounded like Moves Like Jagger, making Tamareh snicker at his oblivion. By now, he was about four feet away, slowly strolling closer and closer towards her.
Asher was burrowing himself as close to the dumpster as hygienically possible, as he heard Lucas get closer to their hideout. His mouth puckered up in disgust as he heard Lucas' horrible whistling.
The next thing he heard was a big splash and then an ear-splitting yell.
