“RIO!”

A horrifying angry voice of a woman rang in the mansion house.

The scared child whimpered as he responded.

“Mom, I'm sorry. I… I…”

“What! You're sorry? If you're sorry, why are you not the top 1!”

“Honey, stop this. Rio did his best plus he is in top 2.”

“Honey, shut up! Rio is like this because you spoil him!”

“Honey! Stop this now! Rio, go to your room.”

“Yes, Dad.”

The child timidly walk across the hall and went inside to his room.

A knock can be heard on the door. And someone called, “Young master.”

The door slowly opened.

And the child said, “Nanny Ester.”

The nanny of the child smiled and approached him.

“Congratulations! Young Master!”

“Nanny, why are you happy when I was just in second place, which is a disgrace for my mother?”

“Hm because Young Master is a genius. Young Master still empresses me because you're in the top 2.”

“I still don't understand.”

“Young Master, my sons never reach the top 5. But still, I was happy that they did their best in school. And just like my son's Young Master did all his best to reach the top.”

“Then why is Mom like that? Can't she also be happy for me?”

“Young Master, your mother is also having a hard time. Hmm… I think you won't understand me even if I tell you.”

The child look down and the Nanny continued,

“Someday, the young master will understand. That's true, there will always be a right time.”

“But--”

“Young Master, one day your Mom will tell you why she is like this. That time will just come, Young Master. So, you have to be patient enough.”

The child smiled weakly and said,

“Okay, thank you, Nanny.”

The Nanny smiled and said, “Good night, Young Master.”

“Good night, Nanny.”

A ray of light woke me up. I slowly opened my eyes. The sweet voice of my mother rang into my ears, “Rio, wake up. You have to bid a farewell to Nanny Ester.”

I sat up from my bed and prepared myself to say a farewell to Nanny.

Today is the day that Nanny has to go back to her hometown.

I arrived at the door, but my heart wasn't ready.

Nanny Ester has been there for me since I was young. She taught me how to do things that my kind doesn't do. She told me things that are done and don't. Furthermore, she reminds me that Mom loves me.

But now that she is resigning and has to go home to the Philippines, my heart breaks as I remember this.

As I nearly approach the front door, my heart was beating fast.

I saw my Nanny with a good deal of luggage.

The soft and caring eyes looked at me. And called me with her sweetest voice," Young Master.”
