The Friend She Needs

"Marinette !" Lila's voice was like alarm waking her up. She was pulled back into someone chest right as she felt death close. When her eyes, who had been closed, opened she saw sea green ones. She panted from not the run but the fear.

"You alright young lady?" The truck driver asked. Lila smiled at him as she pulled away taking her friend's hand.

"She's alright, sorry for bothering you," he nodded at them then drove off. Lila tugged her friend forward.

"Let's calm down a bit," they decided to sit on a nearby bench catching their breaths. Lila sighed. She looked at Marinette who's eyes and cheeks were red from crying.

"Hey," she rested a hand on her lap making her look up.

"Don't think much about it, I'm sure he'll be found and when he is he'll see all the efforts you put in for him," Marinette smiled but it soon fell into a saddened look as she lowered her head. Tears came in again.

"Mari," Lila cooed bringing her into a hug. The girl went on for about an hour crying into her friend's chest.

"I put so much effort in it though Lila," she said.

"All those weeks, all those all nighters I put up with just to get the perfect timing decorations and perfect gift," Lila's grip tightened on her.

"I know Mari," she muttered. Rage and anger filled her chest. How could he. How could he dismiss this!? A birthday Marinette had spent days preparing, making sure even his father would be there. She gritted her teeth. Adrien Agreste had disregarded her friend's feeling, he had stomped all her friend's and Marinette's efforts into the dirt.
He was to blame
And I can offer you revenge, Lila gasped. She looked up looking for whoever had spoken.

"Who-" Marinette pulled away from her looking up. Her eyes widened.

"Lila!" The butterfly mark signaling she was talking to Hawkmoth had appeared around her eyes.

"Lila!" She grabbed her shoulders. Lila's vision was unclear everything was black but she could hear a faint yell in the background.

"Versatile, I am Hawkmoth, that boy your friend loves tore her heart to pieces! Do not let him get away with it!" Hawkmoth said. Lila nodded.

"I won't!" She stated.

"I can help, I will grant you the power needed and in exchange you'll bring me the Ladybug and Chat Noir's miraculous, do we have a deal?" She opened her mouth to agreed when she heard it.

"Lila no!" Her eyes widened.

"Mari...nette," she muttered. She blinked a bit. Her vision was still dark but she could make out some small light.

"Lila! Listen to me! Don't agree to anything, it's not worth it!" The vision cleared then darkened again.

"Versatile! Do we have a deal!? The miraculous of Ladybug and Chat Noir in exchange for your friend's happiness!" She gripped her head. She couldn't. She loved Marinette but hurting Ladybug? No.

"I can't," she said through the pain. A piercing pain cut through her body. She gasped as everything turned white.
On the outside the symbol broke then disappeared. Lila's body went numb and she fell into her friend's arms.

"Lila?" She panted. She looked over at Marinette.

"I'm sorry Mari, I'm sorry," she kept apologising. Marinette shook her head.

"No, I'm glad you were able to push away Hawkmoth's power, and I'm very proud of you for it," she said as she sat up.

"Still I, I couldn't do this, not to Ladybug, I just-" she looked away. Was it bad? She liked Marinette but something compelled her to hurt the Ladybug hero.

"It's alright," she looked back at her.

"I don't mind, as long as you're safe and sound," she nodded with a smile. Marinette sighed. She got up stretching.

"Let's go now," she said offering a hand. Lila took it curiously.

"Where?" Mari grinned.

"Back to the party, even if Adrien isn't there, we can still have fun!" She stated. Lila smiled glad her friend was back.
As they got back, they found everyone partying around and chatting.

"Seems everyone started without us," Lila said. Alya came over to them.

"You guys! You're back!" They nodded.

"Yeah, sorry for running off," Alya shook her head.

"Nah it's all good, by the way we found Adrien," their eyes widened.

"Yeah Nino made a few calls, turns out he got out of fencing classes a bit late," Marinette looked around.

"So he's here! Where!?" She asked looking around. Alya pointed behind her.

"There and he even brought a friend! come on!" Alya said pulling her. Lila sighed following her. They got to his table. Came to find him talking with Nino Max and, a girl. Neither Marinette nor Lila didn't notice her at first.

"Hey! Marinette, heard you're the one who organised the whole thing?" She stumbled over her words but nodded.

"That's so nice of you, by the way this is my friend," the two just then saw her. An Asian girl with a short bob cut. She bowed at them.

"Kagami Tsurugi, it's an honor to meet Adrien's friends," she said shaking Marinette's hand. She turned to Lila. The latter held a stoic look seeing the girl as an immediate threat to Marinette.

"Hi," she said emotionlessly. Kagami nodded. The song changed to a slowmow song and couples began to get onto the dance floor.

"Nino let's dance! Mari you should also go dance!" Alya said making the girl blush. She winked at her before pulling her boyfriend onto the dance floor. Marinette looked down unable to speak. Lila looked at her then at Adrien. The boy was busy talking to Kagami. She rolled her eyes.

"Adrien you know how to dance right?" He looked at her surprised she'd talk to him.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Right, dance with Mari, I'll talk to the new 'friend'" she said looking at Kagami.

"But we were-"

"What? Scared you might trip and humiliate her Blondie?" Marinette gasped

"Lila-"

"Alright," he said taking Marinette's hand. Lila smirked.

"And don't piss yourself!" Adrien thought it was towards him and that only fired him up more while in reality it was for Marinette who looked like she was about to faint.
