As the two danced, from the table Lila and Kagami watched. Kagami glanced at her. She had heard a lot from Adrien. According to him she had quite the foul attitude and even picked on the blonde every chance she got. Making remarks and all. Now had been an example. But as Kagami saw it for herself, she noticed a few things. Lila wasn't really picking on Adrien, maybe she didn't like him but it wasn't anything bad. Marinette liked Adrien and Lila knows, Alya too but Lila's the one helping here. Lila must be Marinette's guard dog, someone who looks our for her. She stared at her intensely.

"Lila Rossi right?" Lila hummed looking at the two dancing.

"You don't like Adrien, why's that?" She glanced at the latter.

"What makes you think that?" She asked. Lila was pretty good at lying, someone like Kagami wasn't about to change that.

"You seem quite, hostile towards him," she snorted. Yeah she hated his guts for sure but Kagami wasn't the one who'd push her into saying it.

"A bit of hostility will humble him," she replied.

"Adrien's a nice person you know, maybe you should-"

"Hey Kagami," she cut her off. She looked at her with a bitter smile.

"If you're in love just say it because I couldn't care less about how an outsider feels towards my attitude," she said. Kagami narrowed her eyes as she passed her.

"Are you in love with Marinette?" Lila froze. Love? She did like Marinette's presence, her smile, the way she always made everyone comfortable and mostly their friendship but love? Was it that strong? Was she...in love? She lowered her head. Yet when she thought about love all she could think of was Ladybug.

"I have other plans than Marinette, but she's still my friend so I'm warning you," she looked over her shoulder.

"Don't screw with her,"
A week after the party everything was practically back to normal. Everyone almost forgot about Adrien almost ditching the surprise party. All was peaceful...almost too peaceful.
Classes went smoothly until an akuma attack happened. As Marinette thought she had found a place, she missed to see the ceiling fall. But Lila saw it.

"Marinette!" The brunette looked up just as she was pushed out of the way. Her eyes widened as she witnessed her friend getting crushed under the rubble.
Lila hardly heard her call out her name as she began to pass out.
When she woke up she was in a hospital. She groaned sitting up. A headache split through her head making her groan.

"Lila," she looked over to her right where Marinette was. The girl seemed to have been crying. Her eyes were red and puffy and her cheeks covered in tear stains.

"What happened," Marinette looked away.

"The ceiling fell on you, I thought you were going to die," Lila frowned.

"It's all my fault," her eyes widened. She rested a hand on the latter's shoulder.

"Mari don't say that, I chose to get in the way and look, I'm fine!" She said with a smile. Marinette started to tear up. Lila sighed patting her back as she wheaped into her chest. A smile graced her lips at the thought of her friend worrying about her. Soon she stopped crying.

"I need to tell the rest that you're fine, I'll be back," she nodded watching her leave. She sighed falling back into her pillow. That's when she heard yelling. The noise felt all too familiar. As the doors swung open she immediately knew.

"This is unbelievable! I leave her with you and she ends in the hospital!" Her dad's voice echoed through both the room and the hall.

"Well maybe if it weren't for your absence she'd be safe!"

"Excuse me!? So now it's my fault?!"

"Oh maybe it's not, maybe it's your disgusting bimbo's-"

"Hey," both of them looked at Lila. She held a disappointed look to both of them.

"We're in a hospital, just keep that in mind," she said with a cold and calm voice making both adults quiet.

"Dear are you alright? How did this happen?" Her mother asked walking to her. She cupped her face taking a look at her scars. This was probably the most affection she had given her in a while.

"We should be suing this school how could they let this happen?" Her father added. He walked to her other side taking her hand.

"I believe your mother is incapable of taking care of you, come live with me," Lila's eyes widened.

"Dad I don't think-"

"Are you insane!? We're in the middle of a school year you'll just be disturbing her!" Her mother yelled.

"Well perhaps it's better than leaving her with you! You're hardly even home!"

"Well at least I'm here for her! Last time I checked you moved out first!"

"Oh yeah well-"

"Excuse me?" Both adults looked at the door seeing Marinette. The girl looked around confused.

"Um-"

"Oh you must be one of Lila's friends!" Lila paled as she watched her dad make his way to her friend. Marinette wasn't as bothered.

"Yes, I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng," Lila's mother walked over as well.

"Oh yes! Lila told me about you!" She said. She smiled smugly at her husband.

"Since I'm the only parent around," Gerald glared back at her.

"Well that didn't stop you from endangering my daughter," he replied with a smirk. Lila cupped her face.
This is gonna be a long day
