"Hi" I said praying that he'd leave me alone.
"You never accepted my offer." He said and looked strait into my eyes. I look away and try to figure out an escape route.
"Yeah.. And I won't accept it. I don't know why you chose me but I'm not interested in you or your girlfriend's little games." I scoffed. I try to walk away but he blocks me. "What girlfriend?" He asked sounding lost. "Whatever joke your trying to make please, stop. Just leave me alone!" I say leave. This time I manage to leave successfully. I went to pore myself a cap of water. "Ellie, I don't have a girlfriend. I have no idea what you're talking about!" I hear Noah say. I roll my eyes as I turn around. He looks puzzled. To be honest..It's kinda cute.. I push my thought away and look at him. "Why are you being nice to me? Everyone at school hates me! So why me?". He blushes and looks down.

"Ellie... I always had a thing for you.. I guess I just couldn't get up the courage to ask you out until now. I'm sorry it took me this long to say this but, I love you Ellie. I'm in love with you." He finished and looked up at me. I could hear my Dad's voice in my head. No boys. "I- I have to go." I say and take a step back and quickly turned around, running up the stairs and out of the front door. I pull out my phone and text my Dad.

You: hey dad, can you please come to pick me up?

He didn't reply. Instead, he calls me.
"Hey honey. Is everything ok? Did you drink? Did something happen?" He asked concerned. "No. Yeah. I'm fine. I just need you to come get me." I say. " Okay. I'm on my way. " he hangs up.

"Hey... I saw you running out. Are you okay?" Hannah asked appearing from the doorway. " Yeah. I'm good.. I just need to go.. I'm sorry. " I say. She hugs me and smiles. "Thank you for coming! " she says and heads back inside.

After what felt like ages, my dad finally arrived.
I got in the car and said nothing. "So... How was it?" I didn't answer. Instead, I looked out of the passenger's window. "Did you eat anything there?" He kept asking me questions. "Dad, can you please stop interviewing me like some criminal? I just want to go home. okay?". I saw his face get stiff and I regret the words that had just left my mouth. At least he'll leave me alone for now. Just the way I like it. Alone.

When we got home I stormed up the stairs into my bedroom, leaving my Dad alone. I laid on my bed. My head filled with thoughts.

Did a boy, no , the most popular boy in school actually just tell me he had a crush on me? Me?! Plain and boring Ellie??! No. No way!! He's not into me, this is all just some sort of misunderstanding...

The next morning I was woken up feeling someones presents in my room. It was my dad. "good morning kiddo, I thought you could use the extra sleep. I know last night was tough for you. I'm not going make you go to school if you don't want to. But you can't stay here alone." he smiled at me. "Okay, so I'll come to the district." I said still half asleep.

I got up and I quickly washed my face and threw on a sweater and a pair of jeans rushing out of the house I realize that I had forgotten my phone at home. Instead of going back to get it I just hopped into the car with my Dad. we drove when my Dad got a call. "Voight" he said with his raspy voice. There has been some chatter on the phone, my dad nodded "I'm on my way." He replied. He quickly did a U turn and sped through the streets of Chicago.

Main POV:
"Stay in the car! " Hank ordered Ellie once they arrived at his destination. Hank got out of the car and walked towards Jay and Erin. "What do we got?" He asked. He followed The two partners. They walked behind the dumpster and that's when he saw the horrific scene.

A young girl, around Ellie's age, has been raped, tortured and had her fingers cut off. "we found her ID card. Jessica Hudson,18. Worked at a strip club." Erin said. "He knew what he was doing. He cut off her fingers to get rid of any DNA evidence. She may have fought back and that may be our way to catch this son of a bitch." The sergeant said getting flustered. "There's a security camera across the street we need to get the footage. "Jay offered his bit of information. "Oh my god!!" They heard a young girl gasp. all turned around to see a familiar face...

"Excuse me." The sergeant said as he turned to face his daughter. "I told you to stay in the car!" He whisper - yelled. She didn't say anything and started walking back to the car. "I love you Ellie. just remember that. " she smiled sadly and nodded.
The thing hank didn't know was that Ellie knew Jessica. She was one of the girls from Sasha's crew. Except she was the only nice one. She never laughed at the jokes Sasha made about other people. She's the only one that seemed to have a heart. She was also the only one from Sasha's group at Hannah's party last night..

When Hank started driving he started his long long lecture.. "I know what you saw could be difficult to deal with, but, there are people that you can always talk to. If you need to talk to anyone, know that my door is always open-" " I know her. Or uh.. Knew. her." Hank shot a look at his daughter. She looked out of the window not really focusing on anything in particular, she just letting everything go blurry. "How do you know her?" he asked while glaring at her. "She's from my school". The older father took that as a sign to stop asking questions and just let her talk.

Ellie's POV:
When we got to the district, Erin and my Dad sat me in his office. I knew what was coming next. They were going to interrogate me. "Ellie, what can you tell me about Jessica?" My Father questioned. I knew I couldn't say anything about how she was nice to me because then my father would know I'm being bullied... "she is one on the more popular girls.. She seems nice. I- I don't really know her that well. " I reply "but she's good friends with a Sasha Smith.. Maybe she knows something." I added. I instantly regret it.. I can only imagine what Sasha has to say.. She'll speak crap about me, In front of my dad, my dad will lose his temper and.. Well.. It'll be worse for me at school! "But you don't have to talk to her right..?".

My Dad and Erin exchanged looks and then looked at me and I felt a discomfort I've never felt before. They knew something was up. I should've just shut my mouth in the car.

" Yes Ellie, we need to talk to her. Is there something we need to know?" Erin asked. I nodded. "No" I say.
